I can't find the previous threads on this. Is it even an option to delay signing in order to have a lawyer review it?

I was laid off last year you get a "generic" severance package depending on you job classification. Nothing to sign or negotiate!
Who do you negotiate with? HR?
We were advised to not sign on the spot and that everything is negotiable! All they can say is no.
Bonus
Pension
Severance
Career Coach/Resume Service
iPhone, computer
Health benefits
Non-compete waived
Letter of Recommendation
Target Employee discounts
Legal expenses
Just sign it. Don't make them angry with you for no reason.
Negotiation? What exactly would your leverage be? Pay a lawyer and review if you would like but save yourself the money and move on.
1) are you able to convert outplacement services into cash?
2) can you reapply, work for Target (HQ, DC, Store) and if so when?
3) if you are near (early) retirement age, do you have sufficient length of service/vacation to make it to whatever date applies?
4) what healthcare benefits will continue, how will they be paid?
If in what is considered a protected class based on age, gender, sexual orientation or medical condition ... press to get clarification on why you were singled out (if this applies) for elimination. This is useful if you are only one on your team.
Good to know! During that time, is there room for negotiation?

They actually tell you to take it and at least read it,is talk to a lawyer. You have 45 days to sign it to get your severance and also 15 days after the date you sign it to recall it.
