Heard through a friend (who is reliable) that a Tgt director confirmed to him that mass layoffs will happen on Tuesday. It will be 4000+ from headquarters. I'm sharing this not to incite worry, but just to prepare people that this is going to be major.
My thoughts are with the entire Target team and I wish you strength through this horrible process.
I've also heard 4K from a confirmed source. 2K are attributed to "open" positions and 2K is the real number on Tuesday.
Tgt director = board of director? If so, then it's credible. But the typical Dir/Sr Director are in the dark on this one.

There are also HQ locations in Tempe and Sioux Falls. Also I believe Salt Lake City. They may very well be hit to some degree in addition to Downtown, Brooklyn Park and India.
Unlike you, OP I was in an offsite planning session three weeks ago regarding next week's cuts, which is how I happen to know you are just here to stir the pot. Because as hard as all the cuts are, they are nescessary to trim some of the bloat that Gregg and company created. At the end of the day, target still has to answer to its stockholders, and such deep cuts would signal a panic strategy. Which is why this is a farcical troll.

We have around 17k corporate staff spread across Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park and Target India (yes they are also considered HQ). 4k of 17k is a little over ~25%. So, we may see 1k cut in India, 2k here in Minneapolis and 1k open position. It is already making me nervous. Hope it's not going to be that steep😢😢

I was thinking that if it were really two-thousand, then the talking point would be "a couple of thousand" not "several thousand." When it comes down to it, there's a 20-40% chance that we'll be laid off. Chilling.
