Brian Cornell to Exempt leaders before Q4: We missed EBIT all year and unfortunately no one will be eligible for that portion of their annual bonus. As your new CEO, I have met a lot of outstanding team members and I believe we can win together. Lets pull together as one great Target team and work toward a common goal of driving sales during peak season. If we make EBIT in Q4, I am going to make a one-time exception to the pay policy and all eligible Exempt leaders will receive bonuses as if we reached EBIT all year.
This is what Brian Cornell meant to say to Exempt leaders: I need everyone to pull together as one team to make me look good and then I'm going to layoff/performance manage most of you out (starting with shutting down Canada and firing my direct reports) so I don't have to pay out the bonuses I promised for making EBIT. To be eligible you must still be employed with Target, and many of you already have bullseyes on your backs. I'm going to layoff the rest of you over the next 2 years because we employ too many idiots that believed my lies. In the spirit of being Fast, Fun & Friendly, just a friendly reminder that layoffs will commence fast before we write bonus checks to save the company money. No one is safe and everyone has a bullseye on their back.
