Does anyone know what the severance package was for those laid off in February?

How many base weeks plus weeks per year served?

Hi guys, I think the 60 days was a Canadian law requirement. My assumption is that we would get one week for each year of service, not the 60 days that Canadian law requires for those layoffs in Canada.

Target severance is a contract you wont sueas well as disparage etc. so it isnt completely out of the goodness of their hearts. Plus there is the reputation risk of not paying severance when you do a massive layoff.

Keep in mind - there is no legal requirement to pay severance at all. I hope they do, but they are not legally/contractually required to do so, unless you signed some agreement.

It was slightly different for exempt vs. nonexempt. All team members receive pay through April 18 and after this, exempt team members received 6 weeks + 1 week for each year of service. Nonexempt team members are only receiving severance pay for years of service, with a minimum of 6 weeks.

No matter which it is, that is good compared most any other packages in the industry. Have been laid off twice and it was only the one week per year of service elsewhere. Then they let you go right away or maybe two weeks notice at most. But I do sympathies in that it is all never enough as it is hard to land a job that quick...especially when there will be a flooded market of talent all let go at once.

They remain in payroll until April 18, then 60 days plus one week per year of service lump sum severance.
