The Target culture is very Minnesota - it's so passive aggressive. They expect you to conform to them all the time, to be "Targetized" and drink the Target Koolaid. If you aren't super bubbly, ultra social and passive aggressive, you get told that you're a problem. Being direct, wanting to actually get your work done, asking questions and pushing back are all viewed as bad things and you'll be told to tone it down or you'll be pushed out. They also do a really bad job supporting their new hires who moved to the Twin Cities to work at Target. A lot of people quit after a year and move back to wherever they were before because they hate it and they don't have a network of people to support them.

You have tons of people doing nothing but coffee, get to know you, & networking. It a bunch of BS. Don't even get me started with the best team survey. Since the unfavorable results came out, I kid you not, I've been in over ten meetings to discuss the results. We F** give you our feedback already! Figure it out.
When you call people out for not being productive or achieving any kind of results, you get placed in the dog house for not "engaging and inspiring" a bunched of cradled, entitled, princesses (girls and guys.) Target culture focuses on I that does exist in TEAM.
I want to volunteer to get laid off so I can get a severance pack and leave. Target HQ is caddy high school environment. The people are horrible, self centered and COLD.
This cut needs to happen. They are just doing it the wrong way. Ripe it off like a band-aid fools.
OP is pretty spot on. I am a Target employee and working here is like being in high school again. You are either one of the cool kids who like to party and get attention or you are one of the kids who works hard to get the work done so one of the cool kids can take credit for it because we just did their homework for them.
