I am really sorry you all are going thru this crap. The company has change under the Leadership of Kipsgaurd. He was instrumental in the 7 rounds in 2009 as well that drove us to the brink of stress and loosing our talent while there were jobs. This time, it seems it is by monthly P we could not take the lack of direction and poor planning any longer. That is just not the Schlumberger we came up with.

Keep your heads up. It is a good company. It is just not the same company. It will become leaner and demand more of it's employees.

Good Luck.

Good morning everybody from HR. We hope everybody is doing great today. All ex-SLB employees are subject to non-compete laws, meaning they can't work for any large companies for two years afterwards, so please be aware of these restrictions. If anyone has other questions please email to ASKHR@slb.com. We are here to serve you as best as we can, which isn't very well, and are tremendously glad we could help you all, if indeed anyone really helps anyone else in this life.

They may not be really commenting here to hide the presence, just printing and reading. Because if they acknowledge it, they must take internal actions to address some repetitive and serious concerns here. They just don't in hope that those would never become an issue as this is just a rumor site and nothing more. There is no smoke without fire.

No one really believes that HR is commenting on this board. Give it a break buddy..go find something else to do with all your spare time.

If you get laid off you have the right to work anywhere. Your right to compete agreement is invalid.

usually 1 year from time of departure but you should read up on it.

What is the period of time specified for non-compete in the agreements that some of you mention below?

I was laid off 2 months ago but also got my PIP bonus AND my Profit Sharing (3% - paid into my 401k account). I fought for it with my lawyer. Schlumberger should be paying PIP bonuses & Profit Sharing to ALL recently laid off people, but if you blindly signed their waiver then you probably got screwed out of it.

I almost puked reading the message from HR below suggesting that getting screwed by Schlumberger make the SLB stock more valuable and not to sell...Hurl!!!

I also see a lot of rumblings about non-compete agreements. At least in the State of Texas they are typically not worth the paper that they were written on.

Thank you HR for the wonderful advice - are you a human or a machine?

Good morning everybody from HR. We hope everybody is doing well today.

I am sorry but company policy is to minimize the payment of PIPs that were not properly earned during the year. I really wish we could help you there but that's the policy I am afraid. If you have any doubts about your case Pls call askHR or contact your lawyer. Another thing to bear in mind is if you lose your PIP it does mean the company's profitability will be better and that makes the share price go up so you may lose on one side but you can gain by holding on to the company's stocks.

I do wish you all the very best with your job hunting but the non compete agreements means that you should not look for a position in a competitor company even if that's the only place you may have options. Again it's a question of company policy and we all need to stick with the policy.

That said we are here to assist you all in the best way possible so please let us know what we can do for you today?

Wishing you all a great day and remember we are only here to help.

Hey HR, I'm DOING GREAT. Got a great job within two weeks of the layoff and don't hold any grudges. Actually, it is a blessing to be free from working with incompetents. They are still there. That, of course, is your problem now.

Hello HR. You do realize that you are going to end up on a layoff list, sooner or later? I bet on the later, the element of surprise is tiltillating, wouldn't you say? Oh, and we are doing fine. We have 99 problems but dealing with you, isn't one of them. Have a good day.

73021 we had a couple people volunteer for layoffs. one now works for range resources and the other gulfport, making more than they were making at SLB. And theyre getting severance while collecting a paycheck from their new employers. sounds like a win to me

(72969) I am a friend of his am writing from his place where I have found him sick, abused and almost starved to death. I don't exactly know who did that to him and why. He won't tell since he promised mummy not to say a word if anyone asks Yet he is grateful to you and telling thanks for everything. He loves you and will not complain.

I would like to know if you can volunteer to be laid off...Honestly the stress of this situation is getting to be a little too much. Just be done with it. Tired of not knowing if I will have a job or not. Not liking the way this is being handled and how people are being treated, not really feeling proud to be a part of this company anymore...How was your day HR?

strange that they ask it now and not when I was there. then, nobody cared. it's like beating an orphan for a while not letting him eat from the family table and abandoning him in the middle of nowhere only because he had bruises. Now, they ask you whether you are going to complain to the cops and reminding you that you had promised your mom that you loved her and you need to behave well because we are the most respected family in this town.
