Less than 2 weeks

On March 10th, over 1,700 active team members at Target HQ will be laid off. This has been in the works for many months, has been alluded to very recently, and comes as direction from leadership at the very top. I've posted here in the past, all facts that have eventually found out to be true, and I'll try to answer some of the "common" questions that come up after I've posted in the past.

"What areas are impacted?" In short? Every pyramid of Target, from the VP level down. If you're at any HQ office... Minneapolis, Tempe, San Fran, Bangalore... Your pyramid will impacted.
"What is the benefits package like?" I can't answer that with specifics, but it's fairly generous.
"What if I'm out of office" Communication will be released asking team members to show up to the office on certain times. If anyone is out of office who is impacted, they will receive a phone call.
"How did they pick areas" I can't answer that. Part was performance based, but there are several other factors in play as well.
"Target is relocating to CityX" These are just trolls.

Really who cares about India? No one there gives a rip about US jobs that are lost when work is shifted there.

Wow--whoever broke the news should be shit-canned. I don't even work at Target but it's obvious they are going in the right direction. Ex-CEO was a tool and threw my target stock money down the drain when they went into Canada.

How reliable is this info as lot of bad info is hurting us badly.Please dont post something to create Fun for yourself. Lots of employees and their family are worried and impacted by these rumors. We are not able to focus on job and constantly living in the fear of Layoff here in India. Getting Layoff is social stigma and depressing here in India as well as people look you down in society and laugh at us as Many Service company will do a layoff on performance. All lay off here are seen as Non Performers which is not true. Please Please don't put wild guesses here

So performance was in play - in terms of what? Review score? Business performance? ....and what other factors were in play? Seniority? PG? Salary?

Everything I've heard agrees with the original post.

Will all area be hit equally? In the past, each team has had to cut a certain %, which always starts with any open positions. This time, it sounds like it will be less even. will it be mostly Lmg, Kmg etc?

I don't know DC specifics, but the entire field structure including stores and DCs is being evaluated. - Yes, in addition to normal team members... LMGs, KMGs, and even some DMG and above will be impacted. - March 3 & 4 is just the date of the financial community meetings in NYC. I'd assume this would be discussed there, but action won't take place until the following week.

Target = the next Kmart

Is it Mar 4th or 10th..there was a strong buzz regarding 4th

So it's not just the peons, there will be managers and above going too?

Do you have any knowledge about the DC's that have been rumored to be closing?

Thanks for the information. Frankly, I think that everyone is just ready for this to be over with. Why are we waiting until March 10th if the decisions have already been made? The next few weeks are not going to be productive while many people hold their breath.
