Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Target Minimum Wage Increase

Long overdue. I knew many employees working for minimum wage trying to support a family or pay for schooling. As a manager, it sickened me to see all the hardworking people make 5X less than I did just because I was more extroverted and had a degree. BS on trickle down economics. Target had to raise their hourly wages only because Walmart did. Just show the lack of empathy and care TGT had regarding minimum wage workers. Pay attention target - informed shoppers support responsible retailers, like Costco, that pays their retail employees a livable wage. You could continue on with your current business model of viewing workers as expendables, but that path is a slippery slope towards bankruptcy. For the sake of MN's largest employer, I hope target survives and become great again.

You do know that everyones wages now will move up kicking in price increases hence inflation which is ignored since you feel warm and cozy with a bigger number on you check, but you cant figure out why you still cant get ahead.

Don't forget that each PENNY per hour the average store wage increases costs Target shareholders FOUR MILLION DOLLARS per year. The market should decide.

I'd let the labor market regulate this. Even now, Target is reacting to shortage of labor, hence the higher wages. In the long run, the market is always right.
