Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox has started the layoff's for 2015.

BEWARE - Xerox is going to reduce their workforce by 80%. Blame management who do NOT know how to manage a project or manage a budget. Xerox has gone down. IF Xerox treats their employee's with such disregard, they will also treat their customers with such disregard. Don't do business with a company who outsources. Only do business with companies that hire American workers.

80 percent sounds high but I can see 50 percent being a realistic target. Xerox also purchased a boat load of smaller companies and then branded them as Xerox so some of the reduction is in these areas.

I was just given the ax today. No letter, no phone call, no warning, no grounds for termination. I was at work when a co-worker showed up and said he got a call to relieve me, get mt ID badge and keys, and escort me from the premises. He informed me to call my manager. Her phone goes straight to voicemail.

I contacted another co-worker who said she heard there was company wide layoffs happening before the end of this quarter because Xerox had too big of a loss in the last quarter. The other employees at my location are to divide my workload.

So, basically, everyone above knew it was going down but all those involved were left clueless. They didn't even hint that we were on the chopping block so we could prepare. No common courtesy or decency on their part. My manager couldn't even deliver the news herself, but sent some one (who was not above me) to do the dirty work. What a gross injustice !!

They need to trim salaries at the top not at the bottom to save money. They need to get rid of all the dead weight employees who are only there due to tenure who are unable to keep up with technology or who lack the willingness to work a full days shift. Xerox is cutting off it's feet to save it's leg but soon they will realize they can no longer walk. They freeze hiring which in turn keeps their ideas stale and inhibits young creative minds from helping to broaden and grow the company. They need to quit spending billions on events and promotions while stifling employees pay and not updating equipment used at locations. Xerox needs to realize that if they don't change the way they do business that they will not have a business left. The old ways of the corporate world are done. Employees are the basis that keep a company growing not those who sit high on the corporate ladder..... their greedy ways must end !!!!

Why don't they start from the top and work their way down; when lay-offs.

How much is this CEO and other top people making per year ?

80% is a bit excessive - would you not agree? Who would do work?
