Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

401k match

I know December 15 is the cutoff for 401k matches for the year. If I’m planning on leaving the company, if I quit December 16, do I still get my match for 2024 in January 2025? Or do I have to work through January when the matches come?

What does it matter? Hon 401k has 3 year vesting period. I’d love to be wrong on this. I’m on the train to change and I think my stop is coming up.

401k match is worth up to $16k Honeywell stock. That’s a sizable amount.

@4hko+1vxRyv7Y if thats true, why wouldnt everyone in advanced materials just drag their feet during the transition and delay the actual spinoff? Not a good look for either company

The spinoff of Advanced Materials is supposed to be finalized at the end of 2025 or early 2026. They have said if the spinoff is completed before December 15th, 2025, employees that are part of the spinoff will not receive their match for 2025. Unbelievable.

Legacy ISC AME here, we walked people out Thursday 12/14 last year, and they had through the 15th to collect their stuff and get gone. Unscrupulous. Be wary, you may be next on 12/13!

Time to throw your back and take 10 weeks of pain leave. It's the only guarantee you will get it.

I know people who got a suprise layoff just days before the 15th. Pure, pure evil.

Get COVID before the holidays and then recover from long COVID after the holidays. Hon chooses not pay out unused sick time.

Why quit mid-december? At least take the last half off and then quit in the New Year.

If you quit before the payout actually occurs, how much will it cost you to get a lawyer into a court room to pursue your due distribution? Personally, I'd wait until you see the distribution in your account. I know others that waited for that exact reason.

I believe the answer is yes you will get the match. But go on HR direct and find the information, it will be clearly stated there.
