I’m hearing there will be a major MW announcement on Dec 5. Anyone know about this? Exxon merger? downstream spinoff?

Probably that they are going to an open floor concept with no offices or assigned work areas to promote a collaborative (nosiy) atmosphere with no privacy and no personal space.

CVX and XOM will never merge, the government wouldn’t allow it and neither company would be willing to fold to the other, that’s silliness to even contemplate.
Why would cvx announce billion dollar investment in engine and india if a merger was a possibility and xom have an existing GCC?
I could not find any current articles about CVX and XOM discussing potential merger…everything was from 2021 during the COVID industry impacts. Can someone point me to anything current and reputable?

The announcement is about leaving California for good. Richmond labs to be consolidated with briar park, and moving to bridgeland up north. And more details about San Ramon employees being offered jobs and no severance if they decline to move to Houston. They need the numbers from California to feed into the ROM plans before executing it in Q1

No Exxon merger is going to happen while Hess arbitration is going on. That outcome has a massive impact on any potential acquisition of Chevron

It’s been widely reported the XOM-CVX merger talks have happened. The big sticking point was the antitrust fears. Thats goes away with the great orange one. If anything they timeline just got accelerated into the next 4 years.
Where are rumors for this supposed 12/5 or 12/10 announcement coming from? I’ve seen it here but have no invites nor have I heard anything from anyone. Do we think it’s going down before Christmas? Sounds like they’ll wait til early Q1 though ? Just so confused T — T When can we realistically expect to get axed?

Why wait 3 weeks to tell us they are laying off 30%?
Exxon announcement is still 18 months away. Got to streamline first and deals take a long time. Thankfully we wont see resistance from DJT administration so stockholders like me will get a nice present.
