Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Request PTO via iFargo

Can you believe TK is spending money to give us the ability to request PTO through a chat bot and this is the highlight of the GenAI outfit she’s running lol. What a waste of resources. The current process to request PTO in workday is fine. Never been an annoyance. Typical TK waste

Remember to keep those goals low so you hit them. Take a simple process and re-engineer it. Then say you came in under budget and on time.

and to think, all those years we got by tracking PTO with excel

That is stupid even as a PoC. I mean sheet that could be done with a very basic interface that parses 300 different sentence / request structures spits back what you want as an ack, you say yes, it replies “done”… like Siri was doing ex-AI 5+ yrs ago.

@1dro+1vv3qbjq "ETL is a foreign concept to this organization."
You bet.... You think with all of those CIOs there would be some resemblance of a model -- somewhere. You think they would do this PTO use case using ServiceNow? But now that Sal is gone.....

Here is what JPM has done:
JPMorgan Chase has implemented several key processes to integrate AI into their operations:

Building a Specialized Workforce: They have assembled a team of over 2,000 AI and machine learning experts to drive AI initiatives [1].

Transitioning from Experimentation to Implementation: The bank is moving generative AI from experimental phases to actual implementation, indicating a maturation in their AI capabilities [3].

Diverse Use Cases: JPMorgan is employing AI across more than 400 use cases, aiming to develop new products, enhance customer engagement, and improve productivity [4].

Data Infrastructure: The creation of a data mesh architecture ensures data is shareable and accessible across the enterprise, facilitating AI integration [6].

Fraud Prevention: They use generative AI to create deepfakes and other tools to better understand and prevent fraud, staying ahead of fraudulent activities that employ similar technologies [2].

Laughing at the concept of Tech implementing AI. ETL is a foreign concept to this organization.

This bank is doomed. Only a small part of AI is language processing (which is what Fargo and this Fargo extension is). JPM is using AI to interact with its clients. This bank has lost all of its product vision (if it had any to begin with...)

Requesting PTO is an asinine use case-- it's dirt simple to do it in Workday.

If they were going to do some LLM type things they should have started with Q&A on common things like HR stuff, policy, tech procedures, system info etc.

There's a few other things I know about that are absurd but I'd rather avoid doxxing myself.

The whole Town Hall was a hype fest filled with exaggerated successes. Meanwhile there's a whole lot that's seriously messed up.

@1rpp+1vv3qbjq Seriously wtf happened to the search function. Now it uses share point search. It used to have a different engine that actually searched the whole intranet and was useful. Now it’s worthless

Fixing the antiquated Teamworks search function would be more useful than over-engineering PTO requests.

of all the processes we need to make more efficient, this is the last on the list.
