Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What are your Severance Packages?

Hi, reason asking is I’m curious what kind of weeks of severance pay people are getting along with how many years of service they have.

Maybe this info would be helpful for planning for the rest of us wondering about being laid off.

How many years of severance did you or coworkers get? How many years of service? What business area? Please don’t abbreviate.

Thank you.

Nice try! D-mb response. Yes the people severed have a nda. The people on here who for whatever reason can't figure out what their severance "would be" if they "were to be fired" have obviously not signed a nda. Seriously. Have you been reading the questions? Why would someone who has gotten their severance package not know what their severance is? These are worried people who haven't been laid off yet. Nice try!

Never give out any details. Stay anonymous. You get what you get. Posting your pay grade or comparing with others etc. isn't going to change anything except for violating your NDA and losing what you were granted.

@sqf+1vjHFNav Nice try!

Y'all are getting phished by HR to share specific details and violate the NDA you undoubtedly signed when agreeing to your severance package.

Sorry to ruin your day I heard from two colleagues they got 0 extra for time here. It maxed out at 12 weeks severance. 16 and under. I also know that one was hired back so go figure.

If you want an estimate of your severance, and you can't figure it out yourself, just post your salary, pay grade and years of service. Someone can give you an estimate.

Why is this so difficult? Do you not know your pay grade? Do you not know your years of service? I'm not trying to be a jerk but the documents are in my HR. Or just Google it. Is this a situation where Union people don't know their pay grade or are confused about their years of service? Not sure how we can communicate this better than has already been done numerous times. Sorry for my rant. I feel bad for everyone.

Important question, but asked and answered almost daily. Check the Intranet and HR kbs. No mystery.

Pretty much what they are spelling out - based on grade and years of service.

It's a combination of years of service and grade. For example, someone with 1 year experience, but is a grade 15 would get 12 weeks severance because at grade 15 the minimum severance is 12 weeks. You need to read the Severance document it explains in detail the breakout for grade/years of experience.

This is spelled out in the Severance Policy document which you can find in the My Total Rewards section.

Basically, it depends on your job grade and years of service. Higher grades have more generous severance payouts.

Up to grade 13, you get one week of severance for each full year of service. If you have 15 years or more of service, you get two weeks severance for each full year of service.

For example, if you are in a grade 12 position with 5 years of service, then your severance would be 5 weeks pay, plus a prorated bonus.

I think the minimum severance is 4 weeks pay.

Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV).
