A guy on my team has become so affected- physically and mentally- from this place that he has now taken Short Term Disability to get a reprieve from it. I have witnessed with my own eyes and ears- him getting bullied/mistreated for speaking up, other employees trying to make him look bad so they don’t get laid off and maybe he does….. like the Hunger Games! I want to report what I saw to HR but I’m scared. We all know HR is t our friend.

Good luck. I've reported unethical behavior before. Nothing is done. They never contact the people listed and nobody loses a job.
@pvw+1vf4cCZP they all work for the evil empire. Unless you're sleeping with an executive or are buddy, buddy with one of the other scotch drinking, Cuban cigar, ClubMed higher ups, then nothing you say at USB matters. You're just a cog in the machine and they'll use you until you're used up, how ever that materializes.
Ethics line is not confidential, no matter what they say.
I feel for the guy. Some people have other mental illnesses like depression or bipolar disorder that are exacerbated by a toxic workplace. Perhaps he is hospitalized and it would be easier to get the paperwork rolling. I had surgery in February and was out 6 weeks. The steps required to get STD is awful and Matrix is a joke and their website is old-school. HR is not helpful either. Bad enough trying to recover from surgery without having to deal with the rudeness of HR when they messed up my pay.
What kind of paperwork is needed for this type of mental stress short term leave? Does the doctor have to evaluate you and provide a document that you are being stressed and unable to work?
Yeah, it is the most toxic of workplaces now. Especially with all the happy, happy, joy, joy a** kissing managers that remain.
Between the head games, vague role clarity, lack of managerial direction and emotional intelligence, broken team structures, broken technology and endless layers to get the simplest things done, I’m really surprised I haven’t been committed yet. This place would push any person over the edge.
This makes me sad and mad, but good for him for using the benefits he’s paying for. I think a lot of us would like to do the same, and I may still.
Ethics line but trust me, HR will interview everyone trying to find the source of the report.
I would document down what you witnessed, so it’s fresh in your mind ( dates and times too) and all parties involved.
I hope that the person getting bullied can get through it. I will be praying for him!
Yes, please speak up, but as someone mentioned, do not do it from your work computer! Block your number if dialing in!
OP - Do NOT send it from your work computer or using a USB network/internet.
Can the ethics hotline know your location from where you send it in from? Where can I find the info?
Report it in a type written letter to HR and CEO, and sign it Concerned Co worker (typed).
Also do u have a whistleblower hotline, if so go that route too.
This place is so toxic it’s really sickening. Is Satan in charge? It feels like it.
I’m told the ethics hotline is a better bet than HR direct.
