Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

More layoffs coming?

Anyone know if there’s any more layoffs coming this week, or have we been spared?

Yes, more lay offs are coming, to Palm Bay, maybe not in the next couple weeks, but I bet around or before the end of year holidays. It is one of the dirty tricks L3H does to save money and not pay for the holiday days.

November 5 2024 can change things for L3Harris only if Trump wins though
DOD money will be handed out like candy on Halloween
If the other side wins we are abolished as a nation so it will not matter where you work
So quit crying vote for Trump and things will be rocking and rolling again
God Bless the USA

Prior to the most recent merger the location in Clifton New jersey, formerly itt, and then excelis, and then Harris, never saw a single bargaining unit layoff and more than 20 years. Because, we were always slightly understaffed. If a contract demanded more, we stepped up and worked overtime and weekends to get the job done. We were always on time, we were always under budget, and we never ever had any quality escapes. That all changed after the acquisition in 2019. Corporate policies drove out the talent and frustrated those of us who were legacy employees. Frustrated to the point of, seeking greener pastures after decades of service, and in many cases retiring a few years early just to get out of the toxic environment. What was left behind is a group of feckless, lazy, entitled, d e i hand-picked losers. Now, layoffs are a common theme. Quality people will not work for a company like this. Our only concern, is that the company will fall like a deck of cards when the equipment they're building sees real combat. My heart breaks for the war fighters that will suffer from it.

Re: Why even waste your time with this company, there are always layoffs coming.

Every company is one bad business deal away from a layoff. We still have to work, we still have to have a job. And contrary to all of the bi--hing and moaning on this page, the VAST MAJORITY of REAL L3Harris employees are basically fine with the current status quo. I don't know about Harris, but I have been here through Chrysler, CTAS, Raytheon and L3, and we have been laying off once or twice a year since 5 weeks after I started working here. They have to clean house and tighten up the belts occassionally. All companies do. Our only real problem is that they never keep it tightened up. They are like poor people at tax time. OMG we have a few bucks, let's hire 500 people! Then 6 months later it is OMG! all of the money is gone, we have to cut jobs. Literally every February and September/October this happens. The only reason it seems excessive now is because the word is actually getting out there for everyone to hear about it.
