Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

9/9 "Talent Review Launch"

Message from "Talent Management" sent to all Directors/Director Equivalents.

On 9/9, we will receive a Workday task to complete our career profile including job history and skills. It must be completed by 9/13 and will be "used by your manager 9/16-9/27 to review and calibrate talent across their organization."

We have been invited to update our career profile over the years, however it has been optional up to this point. This is mandatory.

I feel like this is another way for them to assess who's left out there, for additional RIFs... or to have us all doing additional work after meeting so many folks go. Thoughts?

Bell is an icon that will be there regardless if you have notifications are not. It’s right next to the mailbox. Both top right of screen. If you have notifications it will be a number (how many you have) in a red circle next to the bell. Maybe ask another person on your team to assist?

I am not seeing a bell in Workday. Will I only see this bell if I have Notifications?

It is for G&A as well and is in Workday. Hit the little bell top right of your screen.

@8ov

How did you access Notifications in Workday please? What did you click on in Workday to find Notifications? Thank you

@ 8wzh+1ukVrSOK

Saw it in notifications in Workday; no email and hasn’t been discussed by/with our manager. Assume it’s to weed more people out. Despite the description saying “We’re committed to supporting you, etc”, you don’t lay-off people if you’re interested in helping with their “career development .”

And it's frustrating because it asks has your manager discussed this and that with you? I'm like, No so no suggestion here. How can you update as per instructions, when your boss hasn't been your Boss for a year and has literally not had any meeting to speak with you about your strengths and what you can do to further your career? It's so bogus!

This site has never steered me wrong. Ever. Due date on the workday task is 10/11. Saddest company I have ever worked for.

We were always ranked against each other. We were always subject to rif which included them picking you up out of your career and putting you into something you didn't want or selling you to a contracting company.
This semi appears they're actually interested in our own insights about ourselves instead of just moving us around like chess pieces. Emphasis on the word appears because I'm pretty sure we do absolutely nothing without a stock price motive.

I think, long term, they'll align as many people as they can to shared service type of teams. So they can just assign you out to whatever area needs or wants you. You'll basically be deployed. They think all calls are the same. They think all claims are the same. This is just thinking that all people in specific job functions are the same so if you get AI to align similar people to the same role, you'll have lemmings doing their masters bidding in all corners of the company.

Guarantee we'll say this is to bring collaboration, horizontal work, and efficiency. It's another attempt to save money on the backs of people. I'm honestly interested to see where AI thinks I should work because I don't think I know anymore.

If I am asked to complete my Career Profile, I will comply. I am not a puppet, but at the same time I am keeping a low profile, not making waves and doing my job as always. I know this does not make me safer than anyone else...but I want to know in the end that I did what I was asked.

Elevance what you are doing is just wrong in so many ways iv been here for many years also in the Medicare division and I agree these bait and switch type of calls and enrollments that do not stick and enrollment turnover is truly outrages and need to be handled better, invalid enrollment periods with unattainable goals and micromanaged to writes for not hitting numbers. Hear nothing, say nothing, see nothing maybe is there motto.

Just make sh*t up for it and make sure to include some AI experience. :) Google what to add if you need to. I know people who have put numerous lies on past surveys and questionnaires, and nobody in management ever checked or verified all of the certifications they claimed to have. Several of those that lied have Director titles now. It worked for them! Sad, but this is how the company operates.

I did not suggest this was new, however, it is newly mandatory. Very different.

Talent calibrations are NOT new and are used for many reasons....from my many years of experience, they are generally done this time of year to assist with year end evals. While they could be an input for a potential RIF, I do not believe that is why we are seeing this.
