Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

HR moral issues

I have never seen in my 10-15 years moral this low. So many high performing PSG 22-25s talking about leaving and hoping for EOI. 5 valuable HR employees have just quit in past 6 weeks. Tons more are coming as opportunities for growth are gone.

MG...you need to show that your 26+ low performers need to be removed and not protected. 2021 nightmare is about to repeat itself.

This used to be a great company to be proud of. Since the transformation, parts of it have slowly devolved into a dysfunctional crapshow of arrogance and incompetence, and it continues to hit new lows. Hoping for Enhanced EOI.

HR IT Manager, PL and GM of Data Engineering, AG, are absolute tools, I see them on meetings and they exude as much “We Lead” energy as ants. I mean what id--t comes up with this id--tic skills initiative plan, then we-ponize it and lose trust of an entire division? And the cattiness of her and her partner in crime, platform GM, TK, is high school, and how they treated the former GM of Data EN is criminal and those clowns should have been terminated.

As a non-native English speaker, the truly appalling grammatical errors and typos that appear across this site cause me to question how one can function with such poor language skills.

I realize that this is not the topic of the thread, but it is indicative, I believe, of the deepening degradation of BASIC English skills in our employee population and overall poor quality screening of applicants. I feel embarrassed for us.

Also, I should highlight that the HR moral vs. morale example is particularly comical and likely went unnoticed by the majority of site visitors. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I’d fire the lot in HR, they do nothing apart from protect bullies and POS in the company..

And they wonder why the surveys are so bad…oh let’s implement some BS be better as a front of us being sh-t and not wanting to actually deal with anything!

Surely there’s some good ones. I can think of HRMs I want to work for. If they leave, that will be very telling.

HR could be 80%, an app could update policies as laws change. SCM would be at least 60 as a bot can execute many of the transactions. Legal? Hello chat gpt. And much of the rest is about to learn a lot about cricket, curry and corruption.

I hear HR is getting 50% haircut. That's why already selected individuals are so disconnected. Morebcuts to come. Let the hunger games begin.

Here's an example. I heard a group laughing the other day wondering which supervisor or manager would come and offer their help after they just responded and fixed an unplanned problem.

Truth. So many managers are just kicking back, attending meetings, padding out their days with chats. Supporting their incompetent 2ICs so that they are not challenged or highlighted. Chevron is a laughing stock.

If they would just select the people that are capable and do the work, we would all be happier. Most managers spend all of their time talking and not doing, blowing smoke as we roll our eyes. RM has left a bunch of trash managers and we all know who they are.

The biggest surprise here is that there were 5 valuable employees in HR in the first place.

All 5 employees had individual personal issues. Nothing to do with Chevron. We appreciate their years of service. This is the message from ELT.

They all dropped double middle fingers at leadership. They were willing to leave without severance. That is how frusterated they were. More to come.

No, but even if they don't, the severance will be rich. Hang in there...
