"It’s permitted as per our leadership"

It's really not. They are simply looking the other way because you still show as compliant on the report.

The policy is clear, we are supposed to be reporting to our designated location. The reporting is flawed in that it does not care about what location you swipe in.

As soon as they build the intel into the report to capture and report on the swipe location...your leadership will be singing a different tune.

Why are people downvoting the true statements that the Prescence Report does not care where the badge swipe happens?

This is 100% accurate. The report does not consider badge reader location. It is tracking your compliance swiping at a badge reader. Any badge reader.

They may be making changes (I don't know)... but to this point that is an indisputable fact.

Now on my team we all know this. And our AD and L3 know this. They don't come out and say verbatim "swipe wherever you want to in order to stay complaint on the report" but they have made clear that compliance on the report is all that they care about.

According to the “union slugs” on this site, we all work from Costco while lying in the fetal position over driving to an air conditioned office (while somehow still going to the Costco we were already in). But as long as you swipe your badge at the chicken counter at Costco, you should be good.

To this point anyway, all that has mattered is that you put your badge up against a badge reader. The report cares not where said badge reader is physically located, and does not drill down to figure that out.

Not today. It is work from home day (vacation). No office no work today. It is Friday. Same on Monday.

Yes, many, many people do all over the country. It’s permitted as per our leadership. The reports do not consider where you are checking in, only that you are in 3 days a week. It has been this way from the start or about a year now.

They are cracking down on that now. Your manager may have asked you to confirm your location in web phone. They will use this to make sure you are going into the office.
