Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Update

Was told to update my personal cell in workday by Mgr. who got a notification it wasn't updated. I'm remote but not in tech or anything. Standard update or definitely a sign?

Is your name Miss American pie? Because bye-bye, you might as well drive the Chevy to the levee.

Everyone got this - even if it was missing.

I think it’s standard and most likely a BCP thing. I and quite a few colleagues as well as my boss got the same request.

@vrz+1tyTbdcv If your manager cares or their management line cares it would be like any other issue management would address with an employee. Manager would do an unofficial compliance attempt. Then a documented warning. Then you’d be slated for an inconsistently meets and it would affect any merit or bonus. Unless you had other metrics you were ignoring.

Pretty awesome hey, to have to be constantly wondering when your employer will let you go?

I'm remote and have been ready for years to be laid off. The existence day to day really eats away at you, the anxiety goes up and down, the waiting by the phone every other Tuesday morning.

It's tough to pass up the opportunity for decent severance, but in the end the bank always comes out ahead.

Yeah, I work in the BCP space, definitely a BCP thing.

Needed for business continuity purposes. This is how they notify you in the event of an issue affecting ability to work (e.g. if the system is down, building caught fire, etc).
They will likely dog you if you don’t provide a number. It is helpful to get relevant notices for issues.

Got an email about this today. Said it was for the everbridge disaster recovery calls.

No, I had to do this months ago.

Do it. If you get displaced and immediately have your access revoked it will save you some hassle getting access to teamworks that you will need. I didn’t update mine and it required several calls to offshore fools to do it for me.

What will happen if you don’t update it?

Around here, impending doom is pretty much routine.

Impossible to say. This is something that is sometimes routine, and sometimes a sign of impending doom. We'd need more information to respond with anything but a guess.
