Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Any comments about Jennifer’s email about the Field Technology Team

I am just curious what everyone thinks about the very open to interpretation of Jennifers email. I am not sure what I think about it personally but what does everyone else think?

Area model good. Book better. Buy today. One sale. Believe in possible.

I am pretty sure that anyone that you ask about the Area Model would say that it has been a huge disruption to the way we do business. I have seen nothing effective or efficient about working in the silos that were created as a result of this.

I agree with the reply that stated “Edwige didn't come up with the area model.” Regardless, seeing some mixed reviews about the “model”; maybe just a “wait and see” situation. Edwige mentions in the threads below.

Leave Edwige alone. She has gone through alot being fired — excuse me — resigning for family reasons. No way she stole over $100,000 to secure and promote her book that’s available now at www.edwigerobinson.com. Promoting NIL isn’t cheap people.

I am curious what SLT is coming out with next? Is is going to be that the entire Field Operations Team is going to be outsourced so they can have a tighter grip on the Opex Budget by having a fixed operating cost? What are the discussions in the local markets now?

Good area model discussions in the threads below. The “model” does not appear to be very popular, but seems to be the way forward. Hopefully, no impact to the customer experience.

Area model disaster came from the CR RDO. I'm sure he is trying to distance himself from the terrible decision and rollout now. I'm sure that a--clown is blaming anyone that he can now.

Edwige didn't come up with the area model. Let's get that straight. It came out of and was developed in a large market on one of the Great Lakes.

Anybody who is wanting Edwidge back needs to leave now or seriously reevaluate your position. Edwidge made this whole”area model” a disaster. CRT/FST BS…everyone is now in Silos, it has ki-led morale and taken away ownership of the network. Oh and we stopped fixing important things also, don’t forget about that. What a joke of a leader. So glad she’s gone.

I think MS is an airplane guy. Stock was down -$1.52 today; half-day of trading.

Edwidge could care less about T-Mobile. She seems to care a lot about herself, though.

She's not coming back. Companies are walking away from DEI because it's proved bad for employees and bad for business. And is discriminatory.

Absolutely right. I work nights weekends without shift differential for this company and still got laid off. Lesson learned. Work life balance. At the end of the day everyone is a number.

Any hope that Edwige would be willing to come back, to help stabilize the ship?

There’s no stopping the sinking of this ship. Morale is at an all-time low and no one gives 2 Fs about putting in the extra work for this company.

My advice, hit cruise control on your job, take some PTO, and work as hard/little as you want.

The big issue is that a lot of leadership positions and even new departments were irresponsibly created after the merger, as we were supposed to grow. Then less than 3 years after the merger, we are very heavy up top even after lay-offs and newly created teams have been dissolved.

The people who were hired in these positions are not to blame. This should be food for thought for SLT.

Funny how we are asked to give time for oit entire organization to get on track. The company reports record earnings and Mike Sievert states that we are the most successful in the world. Stockholders are very happy, Mike wears his smiley face jacket and does interviews in the Sidekick cafeteria, while Ulf is all about the "exciting era of AI and innovation".

Weren't last year's lay-off and the implementation of the area model supposed to make us more efficient as a business? It's been a year since the lay-off and we are still trying to find our compass in the "transformation" maze. What can Jennifer possibly do to turn this clunky ship around? I don't think anyone could expect to come up with a "silver bullet".

Nothing to think. Letter was very generic but I do believe if she's aloud to that she will get this train on track but it's going to take time. Some areas have been in this bad model for a year, you can't undo this mess in a day. I just hope she holds the managers responsible that allowed this mess to happen. I will keep saying it, bad leadership from directors down. We have a sprinkle of some good but not many.

Jennifer is a very smart lady who works her a-- off. I believe she will case out her new teams; determine who is essential; find useful id--ts; and weed out the rest. Hence her statement, "get to know the teams better and learn about how we have been operating".
