Thread regarding UKG / Ultimate Kronos Group / Ultimate Software Group Inc. layoffs

Layoffs update

What do we know so far? It’s all over the place, and I can’t even begin to try to figure out how many of us and where are being affected.

Sales folks can follow Jodie Meyer over to Dayforce. She will take UKG reps all day long.

I have been in the industry and used multiple HRIS. I can say UKG Pro and dimensions is one of the worst systems out there and are just 4 or 5 different systems patched up by stupid integration. Competitors are much better. I realized this was a sinking ship and moved my org out of ukg software.

Hey guys can you not leak the CEOs email to Reddit. We’d hate bad publicity as we try and take the company public and ruin 2,400 lives via email in the process. Thank you!

Sorry for those let go.

Things that are surely dead now: (1) The ability to sell using the “our differentiator is culture” story, (2) United Kind and Growing, (3) the teaser on imminently going public, and (4) it’s a great place to work.

My heart goes out to all those effected today. I was in the round of layoffs late last year and it seems like things have only gotten worse since the last re-org. I would be curious to know what everyone's severance looked like. When I left, they gave me benefits, pay, and some resume assistance for 3 months while I looked for work, but with a group as large as this, I'm doubting that everyone was given a package.

Chris Todd is a joke of a leader and the entire K+U Merger has been such a cluster-f. It'll be interesting to see if UKG continues to compete in the HR/HCM space with so many other software options available in the world now.

For those that may remember when Arron Ain originally announced Dimensions, he mentioned he wanted to "Make a piece of software that would put (Kronos) out of business." I just didn't think it would be this literal.

For those affected, it might not hurt to reach out to partner companies to see if your skills could be put to use there.

My manager just had us on a call (on the payroll side) and said if you didn’t get an email by now you’re safe. Prayers to all of those who’ve been hit by this

I left in March after almost 20 years with Kronos/UKG. I could not stand behind how I was being told to treat people (internal team members, peers, and clients). It was terrible. I've talked with former coworkers and there was no one group (or age group, or salary rate) impacted; this was across the board, with the exception of Ready services. Word is that Ready is amping up; changing the employee limit to allow more ee's, putting more engineering efforts into the product, which is surprising but makes sense based on people's general unhappiness with WFM. I'm so sorry to all the people impacted; they were treated unfairly and I wish only better things for them.

I regret to inform you that I was terminated from my position today. While this news isn't entirely unexpected, I want to share that any expectations of receiving meaningful severance pay should be reconsidered. The company offered us eight weeks of severance under the condition that we sign an agreement waiving any potential legal claims against UKG.

Unfortunately, this decision affected my entire team, including our VP. According to my former VP, approximately 2,000 people have been let go thus far, with more notifications expected today and tomorrow.

I'm particularly disappointed by the impersonal nature of this communication. I've dedicated myself to this company, and receiving this news via email feels especially disheartening.

Today, I plan to take some time to regroup before actively seeking new job opportunities.

be looking elsewhere before your number is called. This is the Hindenburg! Give the finger to Chris Todd and greedy private equity!

My wife has worked there for 10 years and is now trying to work, while waiting to see if she gets that email from HR.

This is why I will never work for a company owned by Private Equity. They do not care about the company, apart from their 3-5 year plan to come in, cut costs and make it look more profitable than it is, and either go public or sell it off and cash out. As long as they recoup their investment, the company can implode and go under the day after, it doesn't matter, they made their money and that's all that they care about.

She was laid off last year, right before her stock options were set to vest, and they brought her back 4 months later but WITHOUT her tenure, so that they could save money by treating a 9 year veteran employee as essentially a "new hire"...

I was let go from a marketing position where I covered a major base of logistics and was also working on projects key to both general operations and revenue generation. My manager and their manager are both floored, upset, and seriously impacted by my departure. I was contributing substantially to a very profitable segment of the business and there is no one to cover or replace me.

I was let go. Makes no sense because I had awesome reviews every year, there were only two people doing what I did so now one is there and they have a two week vacation with no one doing the job. Management did not think this through.

To answer some questions below. It's across many departments and we don't know exactly which ones. We don't know how they are choosing which people, be it least seniority or most pay or performance. Managers are not told until their people are told. The FedEx thing means if you install FedEx mobile and put in your name and address, the main page tells you if there are any shipments coming to you. If there are it means labels have been printed so you can return your equipment. If there is one from UKG you are probably getting laid off. If there is not one it doesn't mean anything; maybe they have it processed it yet because some of the layoffs are happening through next week.

Just sad to see how many good dedicated people are impacted. So much for the fairy tale workplace UKG is supposed to be. Just toxic leadership driving to rule of 4 or bust
