you'll wait the 30-45 days like everyone else
To be fair, I believe there is a reason they make you wait.
Oh, I see. Thanks for that.
rather than having to wait an arbitrary number of weeks for it
To be fair, I believe there is a reason they make you wait. I believe you can change your mind in the first 30 days, if you'd rather give up severance in exchange for your right to sue (because when you agree to severance, you also agree not to claim any wrongdoing on their part). So they have to wait for that 30 days to pass before they can process it. Then they add 2 more weeks or so as a buffer, and tell you it can take up to 45 days. In most cases, it processes right after 30 days passes.
I got my severance in 30 days, exactly. It was funny, I actually called HR to ask when it was coming, and the lady said "it processed this morning", so I went into my account and saw it in there.
It hasn’t even been a month. Take a seat, Karen.
Yeah, because it’s being a “Karen” to think severance money should be given to you when you’re severed, rather than having to wait an arbitrary number of weeks for it. But keep trolling this board and blindly defending every little thing the company does. I’m sure it gives your life all the meaning it desperately needs.

Jeez, How much Thalidomide did your mom take? 🤡
Yeah, it’s so stupid that it takes this long, while they have no problem switching off our employee discounts right away, etc. Though I’m just glad I was able to get it, in spite of the best-laid plans of Bald Doofus and the rest of the clown show C-suite.
