Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Retaliatory behaviors

Is this just me or is it a company-wide thing to normalize retaliatory behaviors? Is this a way to make sure nobody reports anything to HR anymore, considering that the only thing that comes out of it is a target on your own back? It's infuriating that there's nothing I can do about it.

You are r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d if you went to HR on someone in your leadership chain. You thought that was how you solve a problem? You just marked yourself for layoffs. This is common sense stuff here. You should have known better.

Years ago I called the Ethics hotline. The rep mercifully told me to let it go. I’m guessing they knew the outcome would be bad for me.

HR has never been on your side, they are just there to protect the interests of the company and keep them from getting sued by taking the appropriate steps in the termination process as required by law.
