Fully Remote Not Near HUBs

Anyone hear anything about those of us in this situation?

There are fairly large teams, one being in San Antonio area for the majority of their group. There is not an office within hours as no USB presence is there that will be another decision. I’m curious to see what happens, especially if there were our leaders there, I would assume they would be required to move to MN or hub?

I have not heard anything but I guarantee you 100% Andy will copy every other corporate sellout hack CEO. Because of big daddy wall street where profit and stock holders are more important than us.

What WILL happen guaranteed. There will be an announcement saying if you are outside of a hub or client center, you need to figure out a way to get into the closest hub or client center. So that means if you are 40 miles from hub, you are driving 40 miles. If you are 100 miles away, you will have 30 days to relocate your family or leave the bank. Tough luck.

That's what every other company is doing. After all the bank is being "generous" in letting you choose from 24 hubs and the 20 (or whatever) client centers. LOL

It's coming, I guarantee it. Give it 1 year. (I don't want this, or support this, just sharing the reality of boomer corporate executives and their old school mindset - they don't care about RTO hurting us - they are the kings)

@1ngn+1tQLcjhk are there even eligible roles for you to apply to? I have not seen a single position list remote as a location option above GS8.

I am helping to manage RTO for my org (not MN based) and the level of concrete, actionable information that we are able to get is appallingly low. Even when we talk with people fairly high up in HR they can’t direct us when we have specific questions about specific people or theoretical circumstances. I feel like they’re keeping it all in the dark until a specific location rolls out; I’m guessing that the remote folks not near an office will be the last group to be addressed (if at all).

I'm in that position

  1. I am doing my best to reduce stress and take it day by day
  2. I'm up skilling and making my self valuable (hard and soft skills)
  3. I know that anything can change in life and constant is change so if something were to happen I am saving and updating my resume on the side
  4. its a game of wait and see the bank still needs certain employees and some are hard to hire for the right mix of skills

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!

I’m in that situation - from what I’ve gathered/heard was two fold:

I may not be eligible for certain other roles in the company due to my remote location. I did just get what was essentially an in-line promotion that wasn’t posted without issue.

When I leave and they go to hire my replacement, that req will be limited to a Hub due to the nature of my role.

I’ve been asking this question of my manager and my manager’s boss for months. Somehow, no one can give me a straight answer. I have a coworker in a different department who was told he is safe from RTO due to location not near a hub/client center. Who knows if that will change…

I haven't heard a thing.
I suppose it depends on who you are, what your role is, and how easily you can be replaced.
