I heard an upper level manager say, “if you have virtual employees, you better make sure they have a backup!”. Are the virtual employees next on the hit list?

There definitely seems to be a push to reduce the number of people who are teleworking down to around 5-10% max.
I know this guy whose brothers cousin twice removed aunts best friend knows a C suite person.
The numbers that AT&T wanted to lose was based on a large percentage of TW employees choosing not to relocate or RTO.
When the VPs in different orgs chose to keep certain employees as TW that affected the %. Our CEO is pi---d about that. There will be a huge focus on making it an easier choice for TW employees to walk away by choice.
“Between 2018 and January 2023"
And what was the affect of spinning off 2 companies in regards to the head count and revenue numbers you quoted.
Focusing on communication instead of media. Go AT&T.
Leadership is still looking for fat to cut..,
“Between 2018 and January 2023, the number of employees at AT&T (NYSE:T) decreased from 268,220 to 160,070, a reduction of more than -40%. The massive reduction in the workforce mirrors a steep decline in net revenue, which dropped from $19.4 billion in 2018 to -$8.5 billion in 2022. In addition, AT&T’s earnings per share (EPS) have decreased for 9 consecutive quarters in a row, from $0.89 in Q2 2021 to $0.64 in Q3 2023.”
Many are special “pets” or ‘sacred cows’.
Confirmed, heard the upper level manager say the same thing. The virtual wave
virtual employees can be found in the bulk cereal aisle at Costco. They line up at the sample counter, waiting for the microwave kirkland brand cheeseburger samples.
Sc--w them and their mandate from blackrock. Your corporate real estate will bust.
Over 300+ general managers that are defined as telework, maybe they will be first selected
There are only 3k virtual management employees left, of which 2.4K are level 2's. Not much left to cut
Unlikely. We have a lot of virtual employees and had a surplus in June. All employees surpluses were in Dallas and Atlanta. All of virtual were left alone.
Nope, we can assure you unequivocally that Virtual employees are protected and completely safe.
Safe from being employed here much longer
are virtual employees the ones that did not return to office?
