Health Insurance with Severance?

Are there any health benefits included in the severance or only COBRA? Thanks if anyone with experience can comment.

Maybe folks could clarify if management or union. Huge difference in your answer.

This is what I got after November layoffs… (ps…paying $10 per month for vision because it’s pretty good) “Depending on years of service first six months are subsidized by the company so you only pay your share as you do now. After 6 months you pay the full cost of insurance under cobra. Cobra is good for 18 months. If you retire, you can get dental, vision and some of the other benefits except healthcare under retiree benefits, which are good rates. Depending on your age and other factors, Obamacare or Medicare could be options down the road.”

" If I retire after 22 years MR75 eligible, will I get free dental, vision? If not, what is the monthly premium for each? I joined ATT 2002"

Not to be rude, but how is it possible that you don't know this?

If you're management, you get "free" nothing. You get a 30% discount on mobiler phone plans. Which can easily be beat anywhere else as a regular customer. That's it.

When I was surplus'd in early 2019, I was MR75 when it meant something. I was a mobility / "management" employee, 55 yrs old and kept the Medical/dental/vision plan, had a call with the Benefits center and it was rolled over from employee to "retiree" plan. except for the ID card stating "retiree plan" it's basically the same BC/BS of IL. Stuck with it b/c the premium was cheap and I'm fairly healthy.

If you didn't retire at the end of 2021, I don't think you get anything now, perhaps COBRA but that's likely going to be $$$$. Best to look at ACA plans.

Just COBRA. You were fired. Why would you expect continued health insurance coverage?
