Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATS is rife with alignment problems

ATS is bloated with non technical people with technical titles, relying upon a technical few. ATS is wiping out technical people with the same net used on non technical ones. Lots of L3 IC’s too. Legg’s ATS is rife with alignment problems. You can see the signs of it all over webphone. Yes, take a moment and really dig into it.

In the end, after ATS sheds 25%, many teams will shut themselves down because they can’t be ran and won’t be needed

An on point comment, the OP is @xgo+1tFmdLIN.

So many good people let go it is unfathomable.....a lot who stayed are paper pushing dim wits. The great talent lost over the RTO and hub BS it is very sad.

Its hilarious that Stankey's intent is to shed the bloat, but its having a backward effect. The leftover culture will be the poisoned one. No trust, no over achievers, no exceptionals, no exceeds, just a bunch of meets and owners of professional plans. Leadership gave up and went for the easy way, making this about region to save their cash flow.

The data breaches took place over 2 years ago before widespread cuts in ATS started. There isn’t going to be any noticeable difference with fewer employees onboard.

“Hello, original OP writer here. Happy I could articulate the ATS culture. It’s feast or famine, with the original technical person being swept out and non-technical people screaming at each other and into oblivion about the problems. "Someone has to fix this!" Organizational disruptions constantly get in the way of day-to-day work with RTO being the biggest. Legg's directives get in everyone's way "everyone listen to me!", outages occur, Legg issues more directives getting in everyone's way, casting a vicious cycle. All organic forms of work at ATT are currently destroyed or on their last legs of life. Legg and Stankey wrecked it. I still crack up, when I think about Legg's first holiday Town Hall, where he role played being roofied and couldn't find the meeting. So his organizations moved on with their lives and spent millions on Warner resources to make bloated accomplishment videos. He demonstrates here with his own understanding, that life continued fine without him.”

Lead MTS here - actually technical Software Engineer.
This is correct. Too many non-technical people put into technical roles, many bad practices and processes passed down by people who don’t know what they’re doing.
Management ignoring their experts (who by the way earn more $ than them) and implementing practices based off some non-technical consultants.
Most people in ‘development’ positions aren’t actually developers and have electrical engineering degrees, etc…tons of bad software they refuse to fund a project for to fix.
The list goes on and on.

RTO major disruptions, they let go our lead security engineer because they didn’t live in the right state. Tons of productivity lost to RTO bullsh-t - “oh we’re on an important call debugging this software issue for a project they want delivered in 2 weeks - LETS DROP EVERYTHING TO DRIVE INTO THE OFFICE EVEN THOUGH HALF OF US LIVE IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY”
Truly genius. Upper management total mo--ns.

This is so true. When RTO was announced over 1 yr ago , I thought they will offer relocation only to people with certain technical skills and only highly qualified candidates will be considered. Instead it was extended to all and those with no skills accepted. This proves that T has not future. Stankey is downsizing the company and letting great talent to leave. I guess he wants to be surrounded with people like him. No competition means he can rule as long as he wants.
