The Eng Manager is asking folks to document the payment platforms when this has never been an issue in the past. Seems to be a high poriority. All this with the US hiring freeze.

They need to know how many developers to hire in India. I know offshoring is a necessary evil but even this push is hitting below the belt.

Payments is a disaster waiting to happen and it will be big when it happens. Charlie should expect lots of MRAs and serious consequences.

This was coming for a long time . Payments have lot of control gaps and tech has not been able to address them - tech competency gaps or lack of understanding of the process.

Maybe lack of documentation is part of the problem? Could it be one factor contributing to the payments issues?

Not knowing much about that area (payments), my assumption is that the issues stem from failed agile transformation combined with offshoring. You can't thin your workforce and then spread the rest across the globe and expect them to be able to orchestrate their way to success. The obsession with efficiency and cost cutting, coupled with the needless pressure to work harder/faster really only leads to one outcome: corner cutting.

If we keep going in this direction, it's only a matter of time until
