Received 200+ resumes. Yeah, the market is bad.

CL? Is that where TK found her job? Was it a fake job because we got a fake head of technology.
To the defeated, the lazy, the disbelievers, the naysayers, those stuck in the ditch and the ones that sound like unhappiness is a patriotic duty, read the thread called “What’s your experience with looking for another job?”. Actual co workers of yours that have received divine inspiration, got off the couch, made effective changes to their lives. Don’t be angry with me, do what they did
Wells has been telling you that you’re worthless for so long that you’re starting to believe it Zoe
It was your very best thinking that got you to where you find yourself.
Thanks buddy - way to rescue all of us with your stories
Mr. Brilliant, if it makes just one of you think outside your box it’s worth your pithy words. I’m helping my family member escape the bank tech he-l that only you people know. There really is a big world of great jobs out there. Maybe a bit hidden from the public view, and maybe some months of training, but they’re there and available. Good luck my friend
But I got an offer??.
Guy that doesn’t work for Wells Fargo coming to a WF job board bragging about his last few years comp - brilliant.
And oh yeah, salary based on 1880 hours per year. Add vacation, holidays, etc, work about half the year. A little OT and some specialty overrides one can get to 300 pretty quickly.
Currently Southwest Airlines dispatchers make the most money starting at around $100,000 and topping out around $203,000 a year.Jul 10, 2023
And oh, they’re not getting furloughed, and oh, they absolutely love what they do.
@1ufb+1tFf1ZZU , search 'The Companies Expert' on YouTube for a series of videos on resume writing and interviewing, including how to get past the fallacious AI screening tools.
Anyone know how to overcome AI techniques for eliminating your resume from the pile??
I did similar many years ago for a research project in college in 2009 after the market crashed. I received 500 plus resumes. That tells me is bad, but not as bad as 2009!! 🫠
@1zkr gonna guess you haven't looked lately. Southwest doesn't have a single dispatcher job posted on their site, so using them as an example is like bragging about FANNGs paying more than every other company that employs technology workers.
Most dispatcher job postings on job sites list a starting salary in the $21-$25 an hour range. It is hardly a step up for anyone displaced from a finance or tech job. Tech workers also don't typically work OT to get north of $100k. I sure don't.
That’s your best research, Google says 35k? Wow, you’re a tech person and that’s all you can pull off? I’m starting to get the picture. Anyway, it wasn’t directed at you to start your career over again. You’re obviously too lazy to do that. Dispatchers start north of 100k at major airlines, 35k at the regionals.

Hmmm- googled aircraft dispatcher salaries and they said starting salaries are more like $35k and can go up to $200k after years of experience. Hardly sounds like a plan for a tech worker with 20 years experience.
Who looks for a job on Craigslist?
What do you think the count would have been say in early ‘20 pre-covid. I bet the same.
Not chilling on this forum, my brother in law is in the Wells Fargo layoff machine. I’m just checking how bad he has it. I fear very, very bad. I’m sorry for all of you
There is no way you’re just chilling on this forum if this is true.
It’s true, flight dispatcher. Close to 200k before OT, 1880 scheduled hours per year, 6 weeks vacation, 20 personal holidays. Best part time job ever. Some folks were close to 400k in overtime. Just had to pass a yearly competency check and p-e clean when asked
@uhr+1tFf1ZZU, if you are telling the truth, that sounds like a great field to have a career in. In the banking industry, thousands of people get laid off every few years.
Hilarious!!! I’m glad I’ve retired well at 62 years old. I worked for the same company for 38 years. (Major Airline) It just doesn’t sound appetizing what you people do quitting all the time, then looking for new jobs. I traveled the world, was compensated well, had complete autonomy, I was represented by a professional organization, never received an evaluation, never had to say hello to anyone I didn’t want to. I guess I had it better than I knew
It sounds like many fake applicants are also wasting employers' time. People, make sure your resume meets the minimum requirements before you apply. Otherwise, many good candidates are losing their opportunities because of you.
Craigslist?
@qnn+1tFf1ZZU, so one of the main reasons why the job openings get a sh-t full of applications so quickly seems that thousands of unqualified id--ts "blindly" applying to any open jobs without even reading the job requirements (like a blast email application). That's why many companies started using ATS to automatically screen out thousands of unqualified applicants. These spam applicants are really annoying, what can we do about it huh?
OP no need to waste 200+ applicants’ time and hopes to know that job market is bad. Just go to the grocery stores. Solid white collar jobs are being shipped to India and the Philippines, what does that tell you?
What's telling is how many good-quality resumes were received. I hired for 2 positions a month ago and the resumes were utter sh--e. Out of 60 resumes for each position, only 10 met the minimum requirements for the job. Of those, only 4 were worth interviewing.
It is a competitive market, but if you are truly qualified for the job, you'll have a reasonable chance. Still be sure to network, etc, though.
@gnm+1tFf1ZZU, I am not OP, but this was not a total waste of time, it served as a research project to measure how bad the job market is. The statistical result helps me form a new strategy and approach.
Can I work from home in this fake job?
Why would you waste someone's time and hope in these times? Not nice.
🤣😂 How long did it take to receive 200+ resumes? Maybe in a few days?
