Just a heads up to those going to Accenture. Copied from this site ….

Accenture's whole game is acquiring niche businesses, wringing the life out of the acquired employees and outsourcing the jobs to India.

I've been through it with them when the small high tech IP Consulting firm (150+ employees + 200 contractors) I worked for was acquired by Accenture in 2007.

It was absolutely miserable working for Accenture over the next several years before I left. I worked around the clock and was on the road constantly. It's a professional sweatshop.

The only upside was that the Employee Stock I purchased has significantly grown in value over the years and represent a significant portion of my retirement portfolio.

In summary, working for Accenture was like working for blood money.

Already looking for a new job, and do not plan to work at Accenture for too long.
L3Harris will have to bring many of us back as contractors or rehires.

I declined their offer.
They wouldn't answer a few of my questions.

I'm not going to turn in a resignation either.

None of us deserve to be treated this way.

Even though the Accenture offer seems to be reasonable on the surface, the way they have handled things is sketchy. They stated that offers are "final and non negotiable", and wouldn't provide a real explanation to questions.
They also specified that "now the window to accept has passed and all digital offers are closed" (even though I didn't ask for it to be re-opened) without even taking a moment to understand my job, the skill set I bring, and understand how problematic it will be to lose an experienced and competent team member from a team that is already short members. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a ton of turnover at Accenture shortly. I predict things will keep getting worse.

“What if we all decline the Accenture offer? Yes. I know it is would never happen but what if....”

It was a good idea but how about everyone effected call in sick for one day to send a message….just a thought , 5/28 would be a good day.

IT People are leaving in droves. Phone lines are burning up and resignations will be pouring in. There will be no one left to support anything. I feel sorry for those left behind.

Does anyone know what departments were affected? Was Engineering IT impacted?

Layoffs in 2023. Layoffs in 2024 (April 11th). Sites being completely shut down. Selling off the IT Department. Losing the FAA FENS contract. Highly-incompetent management. Don't be on this sinking ship!

Flash back to 1999 ... Y2K is almost here! We're all gonna reset to 1900, planes are going to unbuild themselves, jets will fall from the skies ... No, the NEW Raytheon IT solution will pave the way to a new tomorrow!!!

2024 and there are groups still using CICS ...

Management doesn't give a sh1t about our engineering tools, our networks or the people that take care of our tools and networks; this has been on proud display for 24 years now. I'm sure the cost savings initiative will equate to something nice ... now ... back on your heads!

Approximately 482 of the best and finest in IT have been sent off to Accenture. In her own words, Kim has planned shipping us off since she arrived in June 2023. This is a slap in the face. We make the company run. It’s only as smooth as it is because of the hard work we do behind the scenes. Don’t be surprised when stuff stops working without the careful maintenance and care from this dedicated staff. We will see people drop like flies and leave, just like after the L3Harris merger was announced. She expects everything to automagically work in the cloud and for all specialized systems (least of which in manufacturing) to fit into one-size-fits-all COTS products. Get ready for the train wreck.

This was destined to happen. Let's face it, IT at L3 isn't exactly world class. It is a dysfunctional organization with the various towers more interested in finding another group to blame for problems than actually collaborate. Senior leadership only looks out for their friends, bonuses, promotions, adequate staffing is all cr-p. There are very few standards for projects, no accountability for anything, there are unexplained outages everyday. It's a shame because there are a lot of talented people, but there is no cohesiveness whatsoever and leadership is completely disengaged.

So this is what they have offered the clients who are going to Accenture
Your acceptance of Accenture’s offer will be considered resignation of your employment with L3 Harris, so you are not required to send a separate resignation notice to us. Please note that the decline or failing of acceptance to Accenture offer is not a severance-qualifying event. As a result, failure to accept the response of Accenture offer will be considered resignation from your employment with L3 Harris, with Saturday, June 15th, 2024, as your last day of employment.

I lived through this exact same thing several years go. I worked for a company that was acquired by Manulife Financial. Manulife then handed off most of our IT people to CGI (including me). It was awful. If you think the pressure to meet financial goals is bad at L3, wait until you’re part of a big IT consulting company.

My heart goes out to my L3 colleagues who are affected by this.

This new IT re-invent is like selling people. Goes to show upper management doesn’t care about employees. I am one moving with 20 yrs and have reservations based on the communications. Ask stuff to my current boss and can’t be answered.

Anyone else wonder how much stock Kim M has in Accenture? As soon as she came all renewals and purchases had to go through them…

There has been talk in the IT world for years that AI will replace a lot of positions across the industry, that time is here and now.

several procurement groups had already been gutted and replaced with Accenture's offshore "analysts" several months ago. this is continuing that trend.

Definitely a severance dodge if you ask me. From what I’m hearing it seems like they plan to move as much as possible to Azure and COLOs. That truly makes little sense as they explored the cloud before and found it extremely financially prohibitive for their workloads.

They are going to contract with Accenture long enough to get all of us who know how to make the cloud moves happen, happen. Then Accenture will lay off most of us and reassign a few to other accounts. Until that time, I get to work for my same boss as a contractor (he’s staying with L3H), and I get the privilege of working to move L3H away from needing me at all in a year or so.

It shows me that L3H is indeed in dire straits and has been, and still is, very poorly managed. Any intelligent shareholders are not going to be happy with this news.

IT was bloated and inefficient for most things anyways. This is likely a great thing.

This was a way to avoid paying severances. Now with everyone being new employees we lose everything we had before. Work for the “same” stuff but without anything for longevity. All for shareholders to be happy.

The number we are seeing is 400-500 IT professionals with all their knowledge of how the company works had just been given away. My whole team has to accept the "offer" in under a week as people are noting. Outsourcing was proven too expensive 20 years ago. Some leaders in innovation, they should be embarrassed

The Cube just made it official... roughly 40% of IT goes to Accenture next month. next month IT... wait until you see what they do next

40% of IT is moving. My whole team. Sprung on us by the CIO this morning. Accenture offer letters go out Thursday, have one week to accept.

Sounds like an indirect sell-off! Outsource all of your O/H (procurement, IT, pricing, etc.) and cut your wraps/rates to make more competitive and have more FCF to pay down debts. Wasn't aware L3Harris was in such dire straits they were trying to sell the shirts off folks' backs!

Seems so. There are some teams moving to Accenture, others are staying. Should have more information but that’s what management brought to our attention.
