All flexible (medical and dependent) spending accounts cannot be used AFTER separation. Claims can be sent for all services BEFORE 4-11-2024, but not after. All unspent money will be forfeited. This policy seems unfair, especially for employees who are already dealing with being laid off. Way to f-ck over prior employees L3Harris.

I have researched this and it is the choice of the EMPLOYER to not allow the terminated employee not retain their funds - regardless of where those funds go. I have NEVER heard of a company doing this! Been in this position twice and got to keep my FSA money both times.
You should be able to carry it to your next employer. But, if not, you knew before you signed up that the money would dissappear at the end of the year. Maybe you can use it up right now before it times out? That might be a lot of Tylenol and band aids, but I would surely use it up if possible. Even if I ended up donating stuff to a charity.
that would be your federal government that takes that not the employer. make sure you read the fine print when you sign up for FSA.
I couldn’t agree more! I’m trying to determine how to get back the money I paid in which went unclaimed…well it’s only a little over $150 it’s still my damn money. Talk about adding insult to injury 🤬
