Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

3 days or 51%

Is it still 51% till 6/3 or 3 days 8hrs is already ON now? I see IRIS says new policy will be in effect on 6/3

What are you smoking?

I recognize that nothing will make everyone happy, but you guys did literally nothing to make this palatable. Threw people together randomly, removed the coffee, and herded us to open seating areas so we can all listen to other people's WebEx meetings.

No way is there a sizable amount of people happy with this.

It is impossible to have everyone happy with a change of this magnitude. The majority of our colleagues welcome the opportunities to collaborate and problem solve together.

We do have a small percentage of disgruntled employees, but that ratio will diminish over time, as some get on board with what we are doing, and others leave the enterprise one way or another.

A vocal few on this board make dissatisfaction seem more pervasive than it truly is.

Sweet Jesus I’m glad I bailed out of Cigna 6 months ago. Everyone I know that’s still there is absolutely miserable. 6 years ago Cigna had an amazing culture and was a great place to work. The purchase of Express Scripts was the catalyst. It’s been all downhill ever since and it sounds like rock bottom is still a good ways off. Good luck to all.

Oh I can for sure see that. Leadership is inching us along to the return of 5 days in office. I am so dang demoralized and uninterested in doing more than the bare minimum, since all this cr-p started.

Probably a lame attempt to slow roll increasing in-office requirements, in the misguided hope that the workforce will be more accepting of a series of gradual changes.

The boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.

I could not figure out how 50% = 3 days out of 5 either, but then thought maybe they are subtracting an average number of PTO hours plus company holiday time off and it's lining up closer where the 50% = 3 days a week. Please do not interpret this to mean I agree with all this, but it's a guess where the number is coming from. And if my hunch is correct I'm unsure why they just did not say that.

Maybe they thought that we'd all be so happy to come back in and collaborate with our coworkers that of course we will be there for 3 full days. Why take a chance on missing out on so much value?

These people are really stupid. They just “assumed” that 50% time would mean 3 days a week. They can’t do math or something ? People generally work 40 hours per week. And 50% is 20 hours. Why would someone be obligated to stay in office if they have completed the 20 hours ?
And they come up with a snarky comment during townhalls “Well it was always 3 days a week” Pure nonsense!!
You had one job HR. 🙄

Untrue. There is a post here that reads:

Caught another lie
So, the claim was made that 3 full days was always the expectation. Not just more than half. Check this

The answer to #37 reads, in part:

"You have an option to work at home 49% of the time..."

Well, the 50+ % really meant 3 full days from the beginning but was not clear or stated that way. If you listened to the Manager FOW call from 4/24/24, it says since the policy has been updated to reflect the clarification, we’re all supposed to be doing 3 full days now. The 1 ee relations woman did state that was one thing she regrets was not stating the 3 full days up front. The Anchor Days are effective 6/3
