Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Aren’t you happy when I don’t hit you? Wells life#13

Young people, please think twice about giving this company too many years. I wish I had taken that advice.

@last poster, that's great! Glad to hear that. I am hoping I can just transition to another industry altogether and be happy for the time and experience I had here.

Yeah I’ve been here for 20+ years but I’ve done lateral moves throughout that time and didn’t give a sh-t about money which I’m really grateful for right now in this time frame where everybody’s broke, but I’m not broke because I budgeted to the “T”!

I’m just totally grateful that I wasn’t paid massively like some of these people are that have no skills so I’m doing good in my life. Happy times with different jobs and maybe I didn’t get paid that much but I’m not in the hole, like a lot of these people are. I keep up my skills. Sorry!

@hbs+1sHkPfID look at you going back 30 years and proving the respondents point. Whatever Wells employees have experienced pales in comparison to what the entire rest of the working nation has been dealing with since ‘01.

As only a 7 year employee I can emphasize with all of these employees. You’re all grandfathered in to this and it’s all new and scary for you so it’s natural your reaction is anger and confusion. You haven’t been on the outside and instead have lived a sheltered life. Welp, here’s a life experience for you.

"I have met many WF employees who got laid off multiple times from WF, but reapplied and got rehired by WF each time. Why do they keep coming back here? This is like Stockholm syndrome."

Easy. This is all they know and cannot get a job anywhere else.

I'm over 15 years, but have held multiple positions, so I moved a lot within the company. I understand 15 years seems excessive, but we used to think loyalty meant something too
Oh well...

Oh, don't kid yourself. There have been plenty of layoffs, starting with Norwest in 1994. There have been several 'little' ones since then.

But, obviously not enough to incur the slashing that has been happening the last 5 years............

I never met so many people within the banking industry who have been here 15 plus years. Not saying it’s a bad thing but surprised they never experienced layoffs. Well until now…
