Post from TheLayoff.com

When I was an employee (2009 - 2019), the GPTW items were always a nice perk. Got to go to a number of sporting events (baseball, hockey, arena & real football) for free. Had a handful of free dinners with the family as a result of some GPTW quarterly spiffs, and got introduced to a sport that became a passion through the events. It was sad to see them go away.

Now that I have my own companies, I often use my time at Intel as a benchmark for what to do (and what not to do). When things come up, my staff often teases me and asked What Would Intel Do? 6 years ago the GPTW funding was diverted to support the 50 year anniversary event. That event was a disaster and funding was never returned to GPTW. The GPTW value was subsequently removed from Intel core values. Next they cut the funding for the core values card that employees would add to their lanyard next to their Intel badge, to ensure all was completely forgotten. It's too bad, my family used to love going to GPTW events.
