What? Randy said DTV was the best dumpster fire he’s ever torched. It’s the customers fault because they want stupid stuff like value and quality products. Right Uncle Fester?

All retail does is flip satellite customers. I guess i will call it a save on a declining service.

Selling DTV direct to customers in stores (like in a BestBuy), or as an upsell was always really difficult, even back in the early 2000's when pay tv was still big.

Then T came along and invaded DTV, and suddenly, selling the service went from really difficult to forking impossible.

The reason? Exactly what @fpg+1rz6EKOA said: it was now a T product, and consumers are smart enough to stay away from anything that has that T stench.

And as far as the other poster whinging about the how horrible a product DTV is, just ask yourself what happened to make it so awful. Yup, T strikes again!

T basically has the mierdas touch.

It was a good product with lots of happy customers and tons of FCF until AT&T put the anti Midas touch and destroyed the company and product.

There seems to be a pattern: Warnermedia/HBO, alienVault, etc

Its a joke. A product that cannot compete with the rest in the same market they are in. It's like dtv products are transgender and they keep shoving it in everyone's face and we are all like - ya we know what you are and you su-kee the baloney poney.
