Manager dual reports between different LOBs

Our manager has a dual reporting relationship across two completely separate LOBs.

Do us peasants have the privilege of claiming dual reporting as well or is it just reserved for the direct manager?

Asking because each LOB has a different location strategy.

just happened with a lot (tens of thousands) that were reassigned to COO from product group. planned and known. ask your mgr for details.

Let me clarify, they are dotted-line in Workday and therefore have very specific TPS reports to get done and not just we kumbaya support everyone.

The beef is if my location is a layoff factory in one LOB but not the other, would it be prudent to ask for a transfer to the "safer" LOB.

I would like to think my manager is leaning forward on this course of action but I would like for the internet to assure me that it is plausible.

common practice in risk, we align to both risk and the business line. reminds me of the movie office space where you have multiple managers asking you to get your TPS report done.
