Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D9 CWA PremTech

PremTechs will no longer be the Core's cannon-fodder. The locals have used us in past bargaining actions to lead the work actions. While Core technicians stay out working and CO technicians act like no one told them.
Empty bargaining promises until now, but PremTechs accept that we were brought in as second class.
The Core will get sc--wed this time around and we will get more of your work.
You want to strike? Go for it, maybe we will follow. You want to do some clown mobilizing antics? Go ahead.
Core technicians are the biggest female dogs.

Checks notes Yup. CO techs match I&R/Construction techs with the highest union wages. F'in cry baby.

yeah CO techs probably need to split off from CWA . could be worse though and be an addendum worker like the prem techs or buried wire crews.

I am a CO tech. I have some very good Prem Techs in my area. If you want something to blame for shoddy work, blame MSOC. It fosters bad behavior and taking shortcuts. It is a horrible scourge on those who care about doing things right. It is soul su-king.

My yard is in NorCal. The president of my local is a bargainer for contract. He is good for nothing, only advancing and protecting his job title. He allows over 50 temp core workers rather than bargaining for more perm jobs and giving us Prem Techs an opportunity to upgrade.
There is little use of backing this contract, since we are the end of the garbage shoot. I am with you, I am not participating in work actions or stupid walk outs. The techs who will gain, should do all the walking and talking.

Prem techs keep core alive because of their cr-p work sc--wing up the plant .
They are not craftsmen and never will be .

"our uncles and grandparents fought for these rights in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s"

Wow. 4 decades and they couldn't manage to get their kids set up for better jobs?

Outsourced maintenance agreements for fiber would be a huge cost savings. Already happened on wireless side, using Pearce Wireless and MasTec. AT&T just needs HC to issue PO's for services. Cutting our way to growth and eliminating union jobs!

Prem techs are highly skilled inside wire SME’s. They don’t know much else.

Nice trolling.

Core techs walked out the last contract negotiations too.

I too refuse to be core (one job a day with a bad attitudes) cannon fodder. District 4 here, core walks I’m still dispatching. They closed that titles door in our face with sh-t work rolling pairs. I promise you everyone at my shop will dispatch.
