I guess there are so many layoffs happening that anything other than a huge round is no longer considered newsworthy. Sad.

The Connecticut layoffs were mostly temp workers on the factory floor. So they don’t really show up since they’re really run by a contracted temp agency. They mixed in a liberal dose of actual Honeywell employees too. They’ve been forcing people out as well. Really sketchy, nasty, underhanded, evil stuff afoot. I expect it’ll get a lot worse.
Yeah.
I heard that 137 people were laid off by Honeywell in Connecticut, but I cannot find anything in the news about that.
So I think that’s correct, they do those layoffs gradually and keep them quiet
In most states in the USA have something called WARN laws. They specify how many layoffs (people) a company can do in the state before filing a public notice with the state. Most of the time Honeywell engineers the layoffs to stay below the limit. It’s the only engineering they are still good at!! ;)
A lot of tech companies are laying off right now, and they keep them small enough so it doesn’t attract a lot of attention.
Agree, here in UK people are really feeling it but it is hardly mentioned in the press. Keep hearing nonsense about recovery, my ar5e! UK is falling apart.
Global economy is very rough right now but there are I think 40 global elections this year, therefor the news media is keeping it all very quiet, spinning it or just outright lying. I know many people who have lost their jobs in the last 6 months and cost of living is spiralling, facts are all around us no matter what they are saying. Its going to get real bad.
