So did downtown Dallas really spend $50 million on lobby remodel in 2023?

North of $800M was spent on the Discovery District…a property T leases 😂
We have toilets that don’t flush but yet overflow! We have fixtures on the floors with switched but to no avail, they don’t come on “bulbs out” and carpet on the sales ripping apart that we trip over but no fixes! Which is cheaper, new carpet or a lawsuit from the cust/employee?
The money should have gone to the union workers. Let’s avoid any work stoppages this year
Make me CEO and I'll make it happen.
Top down cuts across the board, CEO included. If people can survive on 150K per year, so can anyone making more than that. Learn to limit your spending.
If any executives get upset and want to leave: be my guest.

The new lobby looks great! It helped reinforce my decision to move to Dallas last year. Dallas is where it’s at!

Yes, yes I have. The stunning part is the cost. No one outside of Akard ST. even knows or cares about it.
Why expect anything else? These clowns think they can run a company just like AppleGoogleAmazon, which is why they copy everything the real tech companies do, with a 4 year lag. Zero originality, zero leadership, always copycatting what the cool kids did years ago. We ought be lucky they didn’t fully commit to tearing everything out of downtown and building a UFO campus like they probably really wanted to do. That tacky gaudy eyesore of a lobby is right in line with a clueless arrogant pajama-wearing pepper-eating nitwit’s idea of “HEY LOOK WE’RE TECH TOO”. If we had a responsible Board, they’d claw back 5 years of C-suite bonuses, say “NO” to the harebrained schemes, and put them on a diet salary pending stock price getting back to $30.

You are certainly not an employee that contributes in any meaningful way. Maybe you could share some of your Kale smoothie recipes, or advise Stankey on which pajamas to wear.
Cooperate sycophants expose themselves so easily and readily. They do the work for us and reinforce what is known and feared.
AT&T is very top heavy and very much out of touch with reality.
You should investigate the total cost of the Discovery District. That $50M is nothing, had that in change orders. BECK made some $$$$

Beck construction ALWAYS get their money. The no bid contracts, the padding of jobs. I cannot tell you how many times and for how long I've watched Beck employees hang around LONG after any work should have been finished.
They will send a crew of guys out and the only tools they have is a broom and some safety vests. They remain onsite for weeks, no active work, just sweeping in circles I guess. Just enough to keep billing AT&T.
Sweet gig if you can get it....
Pocket change to at&t, when you are $150B in debt!

This man moved cross-country to walk through a nice lobby twice a day.
This is the tier of employees AT&T is looking for.
We’re so fu---d - this is why we need to just leave and go to tech.
Did Golden Boy get some brass ba--s? Sure takes some to pull off something like this with $100 billion in unpayable debt!
Some offices can’t even get pens and notepads.
But hey, the lobby at HQ sure is nice!

Back in high school I helped this guy clean movie theaters - he did a half a-s job but would always polish the chrome handles in the restrooms and then go out of his way to point out the shiny knobs to theater manager.
Maybe that guy is an officer at T now.
Wow! We can’t even get light bulbs replaced in our COR store, carpet is n shambles, no supplies and it goes on..
It is beautiful but totally unnecessary waste of money. Part of the reason we are in a financial mess and stocks so low
Yes, it’s a shame so many employees will be laid off to actually enjoy the renovations!
At least the C-Suite can enjoy it!
