I wouldn't take a layoff personally, it's business and that S goes both ways. What I do take personally is Hudson Yards intentionally tormenting employees to weasel out of paying severance, which is THEIR policy. That's not business, it's just being a D. If they don't like their severance plan, they can change it. There's no reason, outside of failed leadership, to spend all this time, money, and effort to F with the workers that bring in all the profits.

Executives are incentivized. They cut costs and get bonuses and then 5 years down the line when the SHTF… they already got their bag!

Agreed. Off shore teams don't care about quality work. Reconciliation teams in Manilla and India make so many mistakes that US teams have to clean up. Executive leaders are aware but don't care.
Make them pay you to leave. Do not take the bait to leave on your own unless you just can’t take it anymore.
Is %100 correct as I have seen so many mistakes made since India has been more involved especially in Tech. At the moment most mistakes have been minor but the law of averages will kick in. Remember you get what you pay.
As a former employee you know as well as I do that you only have a few options. Stay and try to ride it out which the problem with that is that if you look at what other FI's are doing you'd know that it is industry wide efforts. Or you can find something else which is what I'd recommend. Let them move all those jobs to India, rest well in the knowledge that those folks do not have the context for why something is done and will eventually make it way worse before it ever gets better.
