The first year was nerve racking with just waiting to see if my number got called. 2nd year I became numb to it and felt it is what it is and it will happen When it happens.... this is starting my 3rd year of witnessing layoffs in home lending and I only know a handful of folks left with me from the over decade I've been here. My attitude now ...I feel like I'm waiting for a lottery ticket out of here !.......the WF Power ball of 2024 , hope I win :) ready for a new career elsewhere but i also earned a severance package as a departing gift first lol

I had anxiety over layoffs, then that anxiety turned into burnout, and finally acceptance. I decided I wasn’t going to push myself above and beyond any more. I’m not sure if that was a factor in my layoff, but it doesn’t matter because I got my package last week and I’ve been on Cloud 9 ever since.

I cannot wait to be free from this toxic stress. Was moved to project, end date was moved up. Counting down the days here.

Getting the severance package was the best thing ever! Really enjoying the time off! TYWF!

I wasn't exactly waiting for the package, but I had enough money to retire, but figured I would stay and get the 'free' money.

When the package DID find me, I wasn't upset and frankly was the envied by my colleagues.

Actually, it was the best thing to happen to me, topping off a career of 30 years, and providing a 14 month glide path into retirement!

No. If I hated my job, I would be proactive and look for something else.

I won't lie, I'm partway there. I used to worry about being laid off but now it would be a welcome relief from long hours and intense stress. I seriously regret my last job change. I'm honestly considering taking a demotion just to get some work life balance back. My fiancée is getting annoyed by my long hours too. I wish I could quiet quit, but I have enough work to do for 2 jobs right now and a boss who is honestly one of the worst I've had and who will be all obey me if I'm not working like a dog. 5pm emails asking for documents that night or by 6am the next morning. But this is exactly what they want and honestly I'm going to make them pay me dearly if they want me out. I'm close to max severance time so go ahead WF, I really need the almost year long vacation.

I used to wish things were different and this is not how I expected my time at WF to end, but it’s where I’m at. Now I hope everyday to receive the displacement notification and my severance package. I’m ready and prepared for the next chapter.

I used to but I’m in tech and our job market isn’t well. I spoke to a tech recruiter last week who expressed that tech hiring is the worst they have seen in a decade.
