Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Technology Location Strategy Update

The rumored Technology Location Strategy Update hit today, 2/27, as predicted.

No surprises on locations.

Transition to this strategy “to continue through 2026.”

First wave of impacts in Q2.

Remote in core/specialty MUST RTO unless “they have an approved medical accommodation to work remotely.”

Key sentence showing this is about cutting costs rather than “collaboration” or any other buzzword:

“Please note that if you are considering moving to a core market, talk to your manager first - employees cannot voluntarily relocate without line-of-business approval.”

Do a Google search for “Wells Fargo tax incentive technology hub Columbus”.

Scharf doesn’t have any ideas of his own. His two tricks are do what JPM does and layoffs.

@1cmy, loads of JPM cronies are there. Favoritism at it's finest.

What's you're specialty / business niche? "I'm from JPM."

There are only 150 technology team members in Columbus, Ohio. What's going on behind the scenes that qualifies this market to be labeled a "Core Location" going forward? Who's greasing who?

Great reason to head home, consider it a blessing, but your location is very much in the minority. My location is core and never even hits 25% capacity, let alone 100%.

Location Waves for 3 yrs gets us to a headcount efficiency target making us the most efficient bank based of charlotte and Dallas. Who wants to move to charlotte and Dallas? Anybody?

Oh give me a home where the severance roams and the money flows freely all day. I’ll be enjoying my time behind a fishing line and the days will be special again. Home, Home away from the bank.

Not true. My location is over capacity. By noon yesterday there were zero unoccupied desks.

If you are in a core U.S. location your position still might be eliminated due to “efficiency” or transitioned to India.

“Please note that if you are considering moving to a core market, talk to your manager first - employees cannot voluntarily relocate without line-of-business approval.”

Yep - we want to collab. by firing your fu--ing a-s. "we will all work in corporate fu-khole X". Unless you want to work in corporate fu-khole X then you are fired.

ITS CALLED QUIET CUTTING.

Wells Fargo is fu---d, failed company trying to liquidate while helping charlie and others from epstien island to get their di-ks su-ked and bank accounts glazed.

BlackRock ripped their own a-s with the di--o that was too big.

There are no locations to close to capacity that they can't handle the very small number of people that would be willing to move for this garbage executive team. Nice try. They are Fing lying and everyone knows it. It's not a location strategy, it's a domestic worker elimination strategy.

Waiting for the day when tech employees stage a walkout over all this bs and bring the bank to its knees

I am located in the Swiss Alps and will relocate my family and neighbors to India because oh the people are so genuine and the most beautiful place in the world if you don’t mind filth and poor sanitary conditions. I think Wells Fargo should focus on having people answer the phones to customers with a decent command of the English language spoken in a not Indian american dialect just good old American English. I can not understand what these people say even those that live her

of course you can't self move. they are working on locations based on who is currently in those markets. if people start flooding in there will be no room. additionally, one has never been allowed to self move without getting permission. having had employees years ago who moved to different markets they need my permission and thath of our senior managers.

Apparently the strategist here does not have problem moving our jobs 7000 miles away (not to mention all the risks associated with it viz, chaos, un-stability, business dis-continuity, unsecularity, caste discrimination, wars, division politics, lies )

This isn't a strategy, rather an eons long stumble. Who admits to anyone they work at WF? Embarrassing.

Don't be tempted to think your job is "safe" if you're in a hub location or specialty market. This is the beginning of the end.

Markets with few WF tech employees will be prioritized first. If you are remote in BFE then you’ll be in the first wave.

Sooooo, "we need you in core markets!" but "yeeeah, don't move to a core market unless you have specific permission from your manager!!"

😐

It's insulting they they think that we believe their BS lies. Meanwhile, the same liars keep telling us that we need to act with integrity. Worst leadership ever.

This will cause a bunch of disruption especially to relative new hires that are not in core cities or remotes near core cities. I heard there are tech people in a few hundred locations. But that’s got to be international plus local support for things. Going to take close to two years? Weird.
