Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

VK delaying merit increases, announces it in the worst way possible.

As he was ending a townhall he mentioned it like it was an afterthought and ended the session. No questions, no clarity, no guidance.

So this seemed to die off quickly. Met someone who was on the Pss townhall the other day and they had a slide that there were approvals for funding new positions and inventive and nonincentive reviews were in march

Anyone hear the same within PSS software teams (IA)?

HBS notified this morning. Band 3 delayed one month, Band 4 two months. Isn't it funny they failed to mention any delay for Band E (Executive). Can't have those at the top missing a pay increase.

@4yxj - traditionally, Honeywell has done an Annual “merit” raise cycle in mid March which would show up in your paycheck in early April (in the US). Many of us consider this to be a Cost of Living adjustment but Honeywell doesn’t seem to look at it this way. If you get more than 2% raise it’s a good year (never mind that inflation is 10%+).

Outside of a job change / promotion (hah!) this is essentially the only raise you could get for the year. There have been cases where Honeywell has delayed the timing of these raises by a month or two, and other times (eg 2020 Covid years) when the raise was cancelled outright.

For this year the announcement was as that they are getting delayed 1-2 months but the speculation is whether they will be cancelled completely.

Yeah, translation- no raises this year. Delayed always gets delayed further into canceled. Been there, done that, too many times in this place.

As the guy on the other thread stated, VK will aggressively seek every possible method to cost cut to artificially prop up the stock price so he can get his annual bonus....that is ALL that matters.

@2rka+1rdF96Xc Oh the irony after kicking out those 'expensive' skilled workers to save a dime or two and realizing it cost the company more and they won't come back.

You should have been at the meeting then you wouldn’t have to ask your manager

Is this all just trolling, I am not hearing any of this talking to several managers...

I am hearing from HR person not to be named they are talking about cancellation of raises for the year to make profit numbers look good

Heard from my management that Band 3 and below is delayed by 1-month. Band 4 and above is delayed by 2 months. Unsure what this means for any bonuses like MIP. Not sure how many locations / SBGs.

What about HTS? Brno has a particularly good market and attrition is likely

This should not be a surprise to anyone. It is the same mantra to pay the absolute minimum
Anyone who work at this place for a while know this. Everyone has their own reason to stay or not, may be close to retirement so sticking it out, or not wanting to go look elsewhere, or not wanting to reset elsewhere. Hang in there for those decided to stay; the grass may or may not be greener

All manager meeting scheduled late Friday for Monday morning, probably about this topic. We all know “delayed” means cancelled based on past Honeywell behavior.

This correct for all SBGs except AERO. Delayed by a few months. Thanks for all your hard work, now the company is literally stealing from you.

Sadly, no one who’s been at HW for any length of time will be surprised by this. It always leaves a sickening feeling in your stomach, especially on the back of Q4 results.

Salary freezes during double digit inflation just to make a bonus is beyond pure evil.

So during the engineering awards gathering they hold a manager meeting and tell them raises will be delayed... yep ... thats is cowardly

So they only told managers. Too cowardly to say it to the whole company.
Leadership Fail.

Just another reminder that in the end it's all about increasing profit margins every quarter on the way to achieving 40%, yes 40%! some day in the future. I have worked for companies with such and they had customers as hostages and could charge accordingly for a specific and well-protected, specific product type. A conglomerate such as Honeywell can never, ever get there without abandoning the conglomerate approach. We used to complain in Engines that we were just a cash cow, but now they don't even try to keep the cow healthy. Layoffs will continue unless pay cuts become the next "new thing" instead.

If this is true, and across all sites, its going to be the stray that breaks the camels back. Why don’t they just offer a ‘voluntary RIF’ If they want to reduce headcount? There is not enough bodies to do the work as it is, and this may be enough to start the herd jumping ship.

Of course it goes that this is strictly for 1st quarter executive bonuses & options.

Can anyone state which town hall this comment was made at? They are all recorded……

My group leaders were absolutely appalled at VK’s flippant, yet not surprising, remarks. Apparently there now is a lot of scrambling behind the scenes on HR’s part to clean up the messaging mess. What was equally insulting is that he also said we need to work harder. VK - work harder but we won’t give you more compensation. HON is a $&@!hole.
