Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

WESCAM Canada layoffs

Let’s hear which departments were affected by today’s layoffs. And if anyone still doesn’t believe this is in preparation to being sold. Perfect plan: lay-offs to show good profit on papers with no investments into R&D, build a building to show pretty, that’s the package. Acquisition business, can never go wrong if all you care is quick profit.

Very bleak times ahead at the former darling. Best avoided if other options are available.

Anyone have any idea what type of severance packages were offered? Number of weeks per year of service?

Not enough work. So many new people were hired last year, not much to do, at least on the floor. I couldn't understand. May be they were planning 50% would leave, but it never happened.

Ya'll are just mad. Police helicopters can't sustain Wescam's business. They need defense spending, and $250k+ gimbals are too pricey and on too big platforms for defense work.

Low altitude space satellites and small drones you can lose is where its at

They gave good package. Still good company. In today's economy nobody is safe.

Watch any police chase on YouTube and you’ll recognize a wescam product and not a Raytheon product.

I hope whoever acquires Wescam realizes that 10-15-20 inch turrets are just expensive targets on the modern battlefield.
