Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D9 Bargaining. Do not be fooled.

If us Union "slugs" as the good people we work with call us, were so unimportant then they wouldn't comment at all. Yet they do.
We should just be bugs on their windshield, not relevant, not needed, not worthy of comment. Yet they do.
They shouldn't care if the Union goes out on strike. Yet they do.
They say the the Union can be replaced tomorrow as their own ranks are being constantly replaced by low wage workers in India.
An unhealthy behavior is to lash out at those that have a Union contract for employment. Yet they do.
They are terrified that AT&T is going to disrupt their cozy life (the kind they think Union "slugs" have) and they will have to go to work where a computer keyboard is only 2% of their daily function.
The company tries the same scare tactics every contract. It is very tiresome but some of you think it is effective.
We do not. Yet you do.

“ No Sir. College degree. 100K base salary without overtime. I come in at 8, I leave at 5. I do not concern myself with AT&T out of those hours.
401K is well funded, Lump sum pension is icing on the cake.”

Highly insecure people generally talk about money…

And people who do not trust the "good people" we work for, we will save for retirement.
We see the posts about "managers" making 2x, 3x what the Union "slugs" do. They brag. They are so proud. They recoil in horror at RTO.
Finally the company is discovering the FRAUD in mobility and is taking action. The sickle is swinging fast and often. The sound of those being cut is getting louder by the day. What sweet music they make, as they beg for their cries to be heard.

“ Yet here you are again.”

Yet you reply every time….typical union slug. The clock is ticking on you GED’s…..the good news is that Target has retail associate jobs available, which fit unions skill sets wonderfully.

401K is well funded, Lump sum pension is icing on the cake. Will retire early without regard to SS. Smart enough not to accept an non bargained position in which I'll lose many benefits you never had.

“ Yet here you are again.” Not for long though.

Tick Tock 16 days, be here before we know it. Time is flying by without any results, only bad faith bargaining by the company. Don’t forget to download and fill out the relief fund form then, turn it in to your job steward. Expect Biden or Trump to show up at a picket line in support, at some point.

District 4 tech chiming in, Tyson just set the stage to hire migrant workers. T gets little Mexican kids trained on how to make a fiber end we’re all out of a job. We’re old, let them have the work and maybe we can go on a funded welfare once the work force surge hits. I’m a 40 year old fat balding Mexican man so I can say that. Cheers.

it’s just fun rattling your cage knowing you’ll be out for months

My wife and I are DINKs with no debt. That amount of time off would be nice knowing it still counts towards to MR75.

Other than rain they won’t have to deal with climbing in sub zero cold or 105 heat.

LOL. You must be one of those people who forgot the winter Olympics were held in CA.

The ski resorts are still open until early June in the Lake Tahoe region. As a matter of fact there's snow expected this weekend up there. The locals say to expect snow 6 months of the year.

Why do you think studded tires are allowed between October 1 to April 30?

No one does, it’s just fun rattling your cage knowing you’ll be out for months with no pay and need to crawl back begging for work…

You must be new here. The company has not let a strike last that long in 40+ years. You are not rattling anyone's cage here sport.

Yet here you are again. Concerned about what the Union might do. You continue to prove my point.
Why do you worry about what the Union might do?
I know, and so do you.

Here we have several perfect examples.
Union "slugs" Union "dummies". If the Union workforce is so disposable, why do you care?
The Union should go away tomorrow and your job will still be the same, right?

Ignore us Union slugs, prove that you are the skilled workforce you claim to be. You can certainly install and repair the network with a few clicks of a mouse.

Why do you even respond to this post if your skills are so important to the company that they can't be replaced?
Is is possible that you are fooling yourself, trying hold on to a job that Satesh will soon have in India?
We don't care, yet you do.

It’s a scream reading some of these dumm pro-union posts and responses. Basically gaslighting hard working management employees with this climbing cr-p.

To all the union dummiez reading this - we won’t be working hard or getting our hands dirty if you walk (that’s a really big IF). Paid vacation from our real jobs is the way I look at it. And California in April…..Gosh, the horror.

Yes, the company gave up on requiring the CP force to go to pole climbing training or touching anything more dangerous than a computer mouse long ago. Too many injuries and a few deaths put a stop to that. I think that is a good thing.
The company may very well require you to report to your CP assignment. Might not be close to home, but be assured you will enjoy your "vacation" in the 5 star Hotel they book for you.

We figured you wouldn’t work hard or dirty your hands. Doesn’t bother us “Union slugs” it will only expedite a TA for a fair contract. Good for all, company will get back their work force that doesn’t mind hard work or dirtying their hands and you can go back to your power points, endless meetings and Costco runs.

Someone's been drinking the Kool-Aid.

You aren't even the ones climbing. The real cable workers are getting sc--wed over while you legacy pensioners are attempting cushy over your paycheck.

“Union Slugs”…..I like it!! Very accurate indeed. We won’t be climbing anything except in to and out of the truck IF you slugs DO HAPPEN to walkout across the entire district (9 that is) at the same time and it’s extremely doubtful that will happen.

Of course we’ll blow thru the deadline and you’ll work under the terms of the expired agreement for a while, but that’s it until a new agreement is ratified. You all may even conduct some targeted ULP strikes, but nothing more. Nothing that will trigger full contingency deployment.

Yawn, yawn, same as always. Nothing new. But keep coming on here and fanning the fake flames if you wish.
