Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Dali Lama & Total Consciousness

Why do so many people believe that the pivotal event was Feb 14, 2023 or Dec 2022 when the bonus was announced? 😲

Many jumped up on anyone in Feb 2022 who pointed out the bubble was going to burst. Leadership gambled on the Subscription game to use as leverage to Inflate Value of Company and Sell and make Avaya someone else's problem. But they ran out of time. They got greedy. Should have sold and not held out for more market cap growth. Bad Gamble.

The final nail in the coffin was lying to the 🦈💲🦈 Loan Sharks🦈💲🦈 during their hail-Mary bridge loan. The loan sharks 🦈morphed into Apollo through the lend-to-own switcheroo and the rest is history!

The failure of Avaya is NOT related to Alan Masarek. Did he allow hot air evangelizing to fight with with anyone who could see the obvious that made Avaya look way worse? Absolutely. Did he allow the silly "Look here/Not there" marketing/PR/Paid off Analysts game to go on too long? Absolutely. It was bad form and humiliating.

However. Have you noticed next to NO BS Analyst planted stories lately? I believe they have finally realized that nothing is better than that C-R-A-P of a lazy PR Spin.

As Bill Murray received total consciousness from the Dali Lama in his story in Caddy Shack "So I got that goin' for me, which is nice ". At least we now have no more cheap seats paid off publications or planted pieces, so we have that going for us. That's a positive step forward.

Bottom line. AM didn't pull a rug out from under you. YOU chose to ignore the obvious. YOU chose to not read the facts and the tea leaves and analyze the business.

And why do you all think that ignoring the facts will suddenly enable you to rebuild the false bubble land that Avaya was living from 2017-2022?

This post was a comment on another thread.

Someone reposted it as a Post...

It appears the layoff may have deleted the comment now that it was reposted here. I believe that is where it came from

Alan is a Capital Opportunist, not a Venture Capitalist. He'd have to put his own money in to be a Venture capitalist.

Agree -- Apollo and Alan found a vulnerable Avaya and pounced on the opportunity.

Agree. It's never been about being a CEO. The plan wasn't to just be next CEO. It was about completely restructuring a model that hasn't worked in 20 years.

So obvious where this post came from.....Alan and company saying look over here, not over there.

No matter what is posted, nothing can dispute the fact that he is a liar. A fact that he's proven himself many times.

Alan is a Venture capitalist. He's not a CEO.
He has a history of doing this going back to the 90s. If you keep expecting him to be your CEO, you will always be disappointed. Of course he says those things. It's the role he as to play. But that's not why he is here.

Unga, Gunga, Gunga Galunga…please don’t desecrate one of the best movies of all time….You miss some pertinent events in your tale. Alan came in and said it will get rough but we have the liquidity to survive this. He said I not here to be CEO of private company. He was given $10M bonus to stay and do Apollo’s bidding. From letting K&E use a firm in Texas that had relationship with the judge file the chapter 11, to telling the employees of Germany he bankrupt the entity if they don’t opt out of the agreed to social plan. Don’t think for a minute that Alan isn’t a contributor to problems currently at play. The challenges the company faces are more candidly spoken of here than they are on the AEBs where it’s the same message….over….and over…and over again. We’ve restructured our balance sheet, we have cash, and DPTW.
