I don’t know why people keep saying Wave 1 already happened. Management has been clear Wave 1 is in Q2 and Wave 2 is in Q3. At least for tech.

Wave 2 lists have been out as of last week. I had a conversation with my manager and I am on the wave 2 list for 2nd quarter which starts April 2nd. I am remote and not in a core location. Hope this helps.

@1snn+1rDX0kRa go look at your assigned location in workday. If you are remote or not in one of your hubs then you will know your situation, mileage need not apply.

How far away from core location do you have to reside before you are considered NOT to be in a core location?

Is it 40 miles? Where is the cutoff, if anyone on this forum knows?

Unfortunately the missed me in wave 1. Now I hope for wave 2, because I won’t wait for 2025. I have not heard specifically that mgrs have wave 2 lists yet. Can anyone confirm if that info has been given to line managers yet?

Everyone in tech was invited. If your manager isn’t a jerk, then you already have been told whether or not you’ll be impacted by wave 1. BUT they can’t tell you yet if you are being displaced, offered relocation or are getting an exception.

This is all to drum up fear in hopes people leave.

WF is not going to negotiate.
We all know anyone who relocates will be displaced after their move.

Most info covered other than 1st Waves dates is not helpful.

Also, was everyone in the call impacted by Wave 1 or is this just to get people anxious/ looking, with actual plans not detailed at this point ?

This is like the final stretch to get you to leave voluntarily.

@ske+1rDX0kRa

If you commit to relocation and then don’t you will not get severance. You will have voluntarily resigned.

I've never seen a company openly hate its employees and not give a sh-t. It's remarkable. Worst company in America to work for. Truly evil, lying sc-m.

You have a yes to move if you relocate. Why not tell them yes and spend the year looking for a new job?

Kind of funny most of the "questions" were taken from the Location Strategy Talking Points on Teamworks.

by

Post ID: @zui+1rDX0kRa

Good question. If you take relocation, you have up to one year to move on your own dime.

One question that wasn’t asked nor answered is when you turn down the relocation offer and tell them that you will just drive to your assigned location, do you still have an year before you have to show up at the assigned location?

Secondly, TK is a coward. Had to send in a bunch of low level peons to have the Q&A. Must’ve been busy drinking some Hint with the clown in NYC.

As far as approved remote medical accommodations being reviewed and revoked goes, this is true. HR literally just rescinded mine this morning (only a day after making me pay to get yet another healthcare provider form) and said that my "coworkers" (who I don't know cause my team has been decimated down to two people and no one I know works in the office)/myself would just have to deal with me potentially vomiting (among other things) in the office as I deal with a flare-up of a legitimate medical condition. They refuse to provide me a written explanation of "undue hardship" or change in job duties to justify this change for some reason though.

Guess I'm quitting without anything lined up and Wells Fargo has achieved their goal of not paying people severance with this "technology location strategy". This company is evil.

Location strategy has nothing to do with it! I’ve had multiple tech people removed weekly in core cities! That’s BS.
No one is safe! I had some laid off as performance.
one week poor perf notification bc they were re org to new role outside skills then they are gone. Nice way to get around paying severance
Done hang out for the severance you might not get it

All I heard, ALL JOBS ARE IMPACTED !!!!!!!!!!! No position is safe.
We will displace you as and when we find it convenient and suits our needs. Whether it be, find a cheaper replacement in India or no longer needed. It does not matter if it is non-core location/core location, hub/non-hub, remote etc. Those are just distractions to divert attention from the real issue. There is no documented study that proves location strategy (especially the way it is being implemented here) has ever worked before.
India is as remote as a job can be.

Spot on.. The people in the meeting stated there is nothing currently planned for REMOTE people who are in non-core location/core location. That is people hired as fully remote years ago.

They say this, but every person on my team who was hired remote (not in non-core/core location) had a meeting with manager telling them their roles were impacted.

@mwh+1rDX0kRa

The only thing that is transparent is that location strategy exists to stir up fear so people will leave and less severance will have to be paid out.

They came out and said all those not in hubs will have their jobs reviewed. There may be some exceptions. It will take years. Strategy may be re-evaluated later. Manager may telll you that you will be impacted in a wave, but cannot say if you will be displaced or offered location.

Don’t move on your own because your job might not exist any longer.

This entire location strategy is about layoffs, driving fear so people will leave.

people complain about lack of transparency so they donl these was to be transparent and it still isn't good enough. while you may not like the answers at least they are trying to give you a heads up. My lob has done some Q&As and I found thru very informative

It really is insulting to be lied to like this. Laying the groundwork to displace anyone they want but making it sound like it's out of their hands. Like it's all this inevitable and logical thing and not the result of decisions actual people are making. I guess it's their job to do the official song and dance even though everyone knows it's bull.

Morale is fine? We want everyone in core markets but no please don't move to one? 100% remote workers who never come to an office anyway are still hit because oh it's their POSITION that's moving? They must know that nobody in the room is buying it. I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror after saying those things with a straight face.

How to say you are moving all the tech jobs to India without saying you are moving all the jobs to India.

This direction of "we have to sit together to work well" is a very legacy old-school IBM approach and not representative of how business needs and technology have coexisted in recent decades. All of the nonsense being spewed off script screams horribly that Wells Fargo management is horribly, horribly out of touch. They're running businesses of notepad and paper, and have no grasp of effective team building. The fact they think you have to have everyone sitting in the same overpopulated cube he-l in order to "collaborate" is very 1980s.

The rumors that Wells Fargo is implementing this "strategy" to force people out because they want to cut costs, due to low performance brought on by ALL the "wonderful" executive decisions that have landed the company in legal crosshairs, appear to be true. It should also be said Wells Fargo wouldn't be needing to make such cuts across the board if they hadn't brought on thousands of Agile project managers that have made NO impact. They're displacing resources with quantifiable output with people who "check boxes".

someone do a mashup of where WF owns buildings (not leases) and what the core locations are and you'll understand why ... it's always been about propping up land values to keep the wealthy ... wealthy
