Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Even my weekends are ruined

Weekends used to be sacred for me, but now all I can think of is the upcoming workweek and what it has in store for me when it comes to more layoffs. What's worse is that I no longer even have any hope that this will ever change. I'm convinced that this is the permanent reality of life at WFC.

We control our actions, so rather than waste time ruminating about the firm check indeed.com and look for roles that are relevant to your interests. Next time, please research the firm and if there are any unresolved issues..don't apply. Channel your frustration productively.

Unfortunately it is the way of the world. Only, be prepared, because that is the one thing under your control.

You have more wealth than the vast majority of humans who have ever walked the face of the earth to work a d-mb job at a bank. Get over yourself. We're all in the same spot.

I’m with you. Times are uncertain, but what happens will happen. It’s hard not to think about, but as the first comment said, we should worry about what we can control.

Change is hard, but not as hard as wasting your life in a job you hate. If you got this job you can get another one.

I feel this albeit from a different place.

I am snapping at my family on the regular. I know I’m responsible for my actions but also know all of this WF cr-p is a large contributor to my emotions. Ridiculous and bad decision or not, I was professionally invested in WF. Yes, should have focused on only investing in myself vs a company. I get that NOW.

I am mad that I feel a layoff is actually the “better” choice. The environment here su-ks and after all the layoffs happen it’s just more work left to do for those who remain. I don’t for one second think the layoffs that do happen are because that work is no longer needed but believe those left at WF will have to take it on in addition to their regular work or make up for it in some way. Zero confidence this exec team has the knowledge of the processes AND the belief in the actual employees who do the work to trust them to make it truly more efficient. WF execs only view “efficiency” as getting less people to do more or sending it to India for 3-4 Indians pay to 1 US pay.

And yes I’m looking for other jobs and considering my own biz but I’m also just…professionally tired and tapped out right now.

well, look on the bright side. Once you get laid off, you won't have to 'worry' about the upcoming workweek.

I don't. Today is not even a holiday for me. it's Monday.

cr-p, I don't get any mail, and the markets are closed.

Enjoy!

You can’t worry about what you can’t control. We all know the environment at WF….get your resume updated, collect the paycheck and live your best life everyday.
