Officer Titles (Yes, again)

Curious on those that just now received officer compensation titles or received an upgrade/downgrade

How were you notified? When did it go in effect after notification?

If you already had one and it changed, what was that communication like and did you go up or down?

Thank you

For those that were promoted, will they get a higher officer title with that? E.g., in the lead to senior lead example, will they now get executive director? Those have not changed in workday yet while the job title promotions have gone through.

That’s what happened in CIB, but the problem is whoever did that assessment was way off. People who were going to be promoted were actually demoted, as some managers were not allowed to put people in for the normal promotion cycle in December due to this change to relying more on officer titles. Many groups are trying to fix this. But many are hearing that the job level employees had was too high, so you may be right. Really cr-ppy way to avoid promotions and probably an attrition play.

“Does everyone in the bank have an officer title now? ”
Any p1-6 and m1-5 gets one. But no hourly worker gets one unless had it already. If you haven’t had it done yet they are in process many groups will have it done by end of March. Calendar out there for mgrs to see.

senior lead and lead consultant titles are not officer titles. they are job family grade levels. If you got bumped from sr lead to lead - your job was assessed at a lower level. you will be higher in salary range and have less opportunity for future increases and bonus

Officer titles will either be same as current or higher, no downward movements -those with officer titles too high for their job grade level are "grandfathered"

Big fuss about nothing. there is no authority or compensation change with title. it literally means nothing.

A lot of people being demoted (pay not affected), i.e., from senior lead business consultant to lead (example). Some were due to actually be promoted. A huge mess in CIB.

In risk and officer title stayed the same but my underline position was impacted. Demotion and no communication.

Not everyone, mostly Sr (P2, M3) type levels on up. Maybe some associate or full managers if they are in lending.

They made a ton of mistakes with officer titles and workday titles. Many promotions put forward in Dec. were rejected b/c supposedly it would foul up the move to rely more on officer titles. Many people were actually demoted. They are trying to fix this mess.

Does everyone in the bank have an officer title now? Or is it only for certain positions? I only ask because I am a lowly peon but I was given one of these impressive sounding officer titles that clearly does not reflect the importance or lack thereof of my current position.

had to go look it up myself in workday. It changed to something better sounding. time to update my LinkedIn profile so that I seem like a big deal, when I'm fact, I am not

Your manager was suppose to tell you regardless if you changed or not. There was a deadline for that, just like performance reviews and comp.

I’m in Risk, we were told when we got our comp numbers. It was maybe 5-6 words. No one really cared bc it’s not like affects our pay or matters to anyone. Didn’t pay attention to when it showed up, but I only noticed it yday when I saw that SVP no longer showed for Sr Managers and Officers.
