Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's not worth it

Working at Wells Fargo will pay your bills but the downsides are not worth it. This job will negatively affect your mental and physical health, your overall well-being, and it will definitely mess with your personal relationships. If anybody who is reading is considering joining because of good pay, don't. It's simply not worth it.

Then that's on you. I've been here for 15 years and make 4x what I did when I started including multiple promotions and three job changes

20+ years at WF and the only direction employees go is nowhere, sideways or out the door. There is no upward trajectory, no rungs on the ladder where more interesting and meaningful work happens.

I have stuck around this long because of a self-imposed prison of complacency. WF pays me every two weeks regardless of productivity levels.

This is WF's biggest crime: Everyone gets the same participation award.

So for those on the outside wondering what WF is on the inside, know the company does not offer any meaningful incentives to light a fire under you. WF doesn't want you to come in and improve things, it wants you to fill a seat. Enjoyment will be had by commiserating with your peers day in and out, as if sharing the experience of being in the trenches is some badge of honor. We are an insecure bunch and we do not waver until layoff or retirement.

Maybe a regular paycheck is enough. That's fine.

Caution: If you have the slightest need to achieve something more professional it is best to avoid WF at all costs.

I have no problems and my family enjoys the benefits I provide to them. So yes, it can be worth it

WF wasn’t always this horrible.
If you’re contemplating a position at WF you live in a hub location-

There's nothing grown up about executives that are constantly lying and doing things counter to shareholder interest.
